Need some advice...
 

I just put toyo T1R's on the back rims as my old potenza's were bald. I went with the 245/40/18 and now they rub on medium hard cornering. These were recommended and now I cant corner for shit... What are my option without getting rid of these tires and getting new ones? do you think Id rub if I put these on the front, where the wheel gap is larger? then put the 225 out back? anyway to stiffen the rear suspension some without spending a fortune?

hmmm according to tire rack, that size should fit. Shoot them an e-mail and see what they think.

the tires fit the rims... the extra budge in the back is clipping the suspension as it colapses under hard cornering. the tires are at 35-36 psi now, it didnt rub at 45 psi but then the tires had no grip. My suspension is 100% stock and the car has never been in an accident. Also I never rubbed with the 225's

I'm sursprised they rub, maybe the wheel well liner is loose? Or have you checked for any ride height sag, maybe your shocks have given it up.

Otherwise, wheel spacers are the only low cost option I can think of to increase your offset, though it'll likely have other, likely negative effects.

I'm assuming you're using the OEM wheels. Some board members are running 9.5" wheels with 275/35 in the rear without rubbing. There's got to be something else at work here besides your change in tires.

Not sure I have ever heard of this on a stock car. I have 265/19's (9.5" rim) on my rears and I don't rub. Have you substantially lowered your car ? Might be the shocks are shot. Like I said, never heard of this issue with the 245/40/18.

I've not EVER had a problem with rubbing. That's with a 1.5" and .7" drop front and rear respectfully, with 245/40r18. Highly doubt it's just the tires. Gotta be something else going on. What is it rubbing against?!?

By the way, bad shocks won't create sag.

I have seen shot shocks where it has basically collapsed in on themselves, but then again you would know when that happens. Compressed/broken springs maybe ? Something is definitely wrong.

Could his sway bar or end links be damaged?
