need Help deciding what to change first
 

Ok guys,

so here is my situation, next week i will be changing my oil and trans fluid, so after that i am left with 2 things on my to do list before i can finally enjoy my 8 to it's fullest.


1) shocks & springs- my rear shocks keep crashing badly whenever i have a passenger or grocery's in the car.

2) clutch - after reading a few threads i have came to the conclusion; that i need a new clutch. whenever i am in a high gear like 5th or 6th and i decide to give it a good amount of gas, my rpms drop and then pick up,or it happens when i shift quickly; it slips for a good sec but then regains control.

so i know the 2 are important but i can only do 1 every month; due to funding, i can do 1 by myself but for the clutch i will need to pay a mechanic . so where should i start?.

for the clutch i will be going with the complete act set

and for the shocks i have decided to go with the tokico d-specs.

I am not an RX8 owner (but may soon be), but if a clutch is slipping it shows the opposite symptoms of what you describe. With a slipping clutch, the engine will respond to increased throttle, but the car will not accelerate as it should. You describe the the engine rpms as dropping, the exact opposite.

I'd check further before investing in a new clutch.
