Does anyone know if there has been an upgrade to the navigation systems since 2004? Mine has the mazda symbol in the background when it starts up so its the first upgrade? i think??

The system format was changed in 2006.

So is there an update available via cd or do i have to get one from mazda?

You can get map updates from either Mazda or NAVTEQ.
