So actually Fiat wasn't "banned" from North America, they pulled out in '83. Pretty much all European cars from that era, maybe with the exception of the Germans, were complete and utter shit. Fiat pulled out, Rover pulled out, MG collapsed in 1980, Jaguar almost collapsed.

Fiat today is a pretty awesome company. I hope they bring the Fiat 500 over, it's very well regarded in Europe and would be a great small car for Chrysler. (Although I hope they keep it a Fiat.)

I had a Fiat X1/9 in the late '70s early '80s. Great little car. I beat the piss out of it for 135K miles. The biggest problem was the head gasket, went through 3 or 4. Replaced it with a '83 RX7, faster but not as much fun.

came back to Michigan today with 1300k on it

left 5pm Saturday, returned 630pm today.

I was just looking at a '73 Fiat 124 coupe on cars.com the other day. I think I want one. looks like fun.

The 124 coupe was a nice looking car, just make sure there is still some metal left under the paint. A friend of mine had a later one with the 1600cc engine in Spain. Pretty fast in it's day.

um why do i have the feeling you didnt pay a deposit and you were just window shopping......ANY dealership (i used to work for dealerships through a bodyshop) if anyone pays a deposit, it is reserved for THAT person, if they are going to take an offer from someone they will call you to ask you if your buying it or not, and idk how an 05 rx8 shinka is more expensive than a brand new genesis.....last year i was SO close to buying an 07 black shinka for 17k with 21k sticker price with only 10k miles on it, it was MINT, only reason i didnt get it was because the monthly payments would have caught up on me being $320/mo

LOL i like this guy. really tho we all like this car which is why we got it, shii so far i owned 2 (dont ask how that happen), but he is just trolling to find the reason why. this car is underpowered, this car is not good on gas, if u have 04-08 a/c sucks and that center console is hell. had a million issues in my case none of them had to do with any mechanical part. but after all the bad shit i rather drive my 8 than any hyundai. specially from saturday when i get my custom turbo installed. good bye under power hello to 350 pounds of torque.

(exagerative i know) and i dont know where your coming from you must not take good care of your cars.....mine has pretty good power stock(i know not the best) but better than most stock cars around where i live, and the a/c does not suck, mine blows plenty of cold air(i hardly use it....thats what sunroofs and windows are for, but it still blows out ice cold air at 80k miles, havent charged it up yet) and the only problem the center console would have is if your using the car for anything other than driving.....i think its just fine

every minute i get to drive the 8 im loving it better and better, it has not failed me the 30k i have owned it so far, but im taking care of er real nicely :P;););)

ha, i dont really care if i only get 5 miles a gallon as long as i enjoy driving the car which im sure i will, i have always taken care of all my cars specially the last two rx8s from the smallest to the biggest issues we have encounter, i dont know what year is your car but any body that had the car from the beginning had lots of issues with the car. also the A/C is known to be not that cold. the center console does he super hot which doesnt help the a/c part. you must live on a nice cool area not NY in the summer time and last if you have better hp than most the cars arround where you live then all those cars suck.
