My Fast Likes The Windows Down!!

This post has nothing to do with the title. I just like that damn commercial.

yea...soo....

I remember reading a thread where some guy was talkin about improvements in accerlation or he was racing someone and he took 3rd gear up to 80 and "shutdown". Someone or some people retorted saying that 3rd went to 90. Then someone else said 85. This left me confused as Paris Hilton trying to work a dishwasher. At the time I could only reach 80 or 81 in 3rd, but now weeks later...today even...I reached 90 in 3rd on more than one instance. This is really buggin me.

What's the deal with this damn car? I haven't done any modding nor have I switched to full synthetic, but can my spedo lie?

Can someone explain to me how the car becomes more "efficient" over time?

There are many factors that can change your result, everything from road angle to wind to car weight.

maybe...

you lost weight
on an incline
less wind resistance

heh

It is the law of large numbers. As you spin the rotor parts more and more, eventually they will run faster and smoother.. and thus.. become more effecient!

If you give an event enough chances to happen, it will happen eventually.

Am I the ONLY one who knows this...

*sigh*

If you shift when you hear the beep, then you'd be on the 80's. If you shift when you hear the RPM bouncing up and down, then you'd be in the 90's.

is the speedo read off the rear wheels ? if not, the rpm / speed ratio can change as tire diameter changes with wear, no?

AAHHHGHGHHGHG.....thanks for all the responses.

ahhh welll

how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsy-roll tootsy pop?

It is simply gear ratio, which does not chnage from wind or angle. you revved the motor higher to get a higher speed. Wearing your tires would have made them smaller, which would result in a lower speed.

Pretty simple.
