Damn wut tint shop allow this to happen? Did they let u kno that this isn't a good idea? I heard that if u have limo tint just on the sides alone, the officers imidiately place thier hands near the handgun because they dont kno what is goin on inside the vehicle. That is just what i heard. They probly towed it beacuse they dont want to take any risk and have a better inspection at the local impound. I hope u learned ur lesson.

So you knew you were going to get busted anyway and have to remove it... so what was the point of doing it in the first place?

I have a small lip on my windshield which is totally legal to have provided it's above the rear view mirror. I've seen these on most cars at least in Arizona and it's totally acceptable.

Having your whole windshield tinted, while might help prevent fading or damage to your dash, is a HUGE safety risk and thus having your car towed was acceptable because it was a danger to other motorists on the road. My god, I can't imagine using limo tint on the windshield and I live in a major city.

My windshield is at 45%, sides at 35%, and rear at 15%
Have had it this way for about a year, stopped 3-4 times by the cops since then and never had a problem
See a lot of cars (mercedes and bmw) totally blacked out including the windshield

Not sure why a tint place would even allow installing limo tint on a front window unless a person has very light sensitive eyes and has a note from an eye doctor to back it up.

Since the officer just called in a tow truck I can gather there was no excuse. :dunno:

Well let's hope someone learns from your mistake p-trix.

Uh, wouldn't sunglasses take care of that problem?

Exactly! Can't imagine what driving at night must be like. I hear people with 20% or less complain about having a hard time seeing things behind them @ night, can't imagine what limo tint (5%) on your windshield does to VLT @ night (esp. when outside city lights).

Just because no one gave u a ticket *yet*, that does not make it right.

I understand tint is pretty important, especially under hot ass weather.

but the WINDSHIELD ?

OP, u fuxking deserves the tow. if they didnt pull u over and tow ur ass, u probably gonna kill someone in the next minute.

Get lost, We just gonna keep laughing at ur stupid act.

even though it was probably just a strip, it's still illegal.

In most states they allow you to have a strip that comes down to the line on the windshield (I forget what it is called, but you can see it marked on the front). It is only about 6" down.

Rems31 04-11-2008 11:10 AM

Im sure the tint shop warned them...but if he still wanted to do it, then that's more money to the tint shop...why would they refuse?

I think you're either jacking around and making this story up, or your the first RX8 owner with mild Down's Syndrome.

I mean you'd have to be such a blithering idiot to actually do that.. Just completely mentally dysfunctional.
