ok, tyrell..... maybe you dont know what a figure of speech. hmmmmm...and people here call me young and hopless. Mugatu the X-men spoiler rocks. Like I said I really didnt want to take it to Jiffy Lube, but it was the worst mistake I have ever made. My car should be fine, and Jiffy Lube is gonna pay for the damages. I am just sad that my car got hurt, and I feel like it's not new and it aged like 5 yrs. I dunno.....

Have you been able to determine just what was disconnected, and what the extent of the damage to the engine is?

basically, from what I hear they didnt have a clue what they were doing and they left parts unattached. I really dont know much about cars either, but it was somthing to do with an air cooler or tube of some sort. I call and they keep saying they dont know how bad the damage is yet at this point which makes me mad. I will find out by this weekend definately. I just cant wait to get back to driving my car.

Well, if they left the oil lines to the oil cooler disconnected, then the oil would all drain out rapidly, like in a few miles, right? He (Samurai) said that his car was fine until two weeks later, and then it wouldn't start. Did you notice any warning lights for low oil level or pressure? Was the engine running hotter than usual for the last week? If not, then it sounds like something else may have caused his starting problem.

Obviously, the worst case scenario is that the engine seized up from no oil, but that should have happened long before two weeks. I wonder if this is something to do with oil fouling the ECU sensors, leaving the wires to the sensors disconnected, or something like that. We'll have to see what the final diagnosis is, but I wonder if the Jiffy Lube folks may have had nothing to do with it.

No, he was commenting on another typo of yours - you meant "sole" , but you wrote "soul", which is something completely different. (you also meant "purpose", but wrote "perpose") Perhaps you should invest in or utilize a spell checker so that people can understand you?

(PS - it's "hopeless", meaning without hope. "hopless" would mean you can't hop )

Gordon

Yeah dude, that sucks. Just a question: how have you legally worked for anyone other than your parents since the age of 11? You would need to pay taxes usually if it's a job, and if it was for your parents I guess they did pay for it afterall. :-P

Uh, yeah I haven't had any bad experiences at Jiffy Lube lately though. Did you take it to the dealer two hours away?

Hope you get it fixed soon.

Chris

Yes I cant spell well. I just suck at it. Yes I have worked since I was eleven, getting pay checks like every other employs on my fathers dairy. You guys can mock me and say I am bull shitting, but dairy work is most likely one of the most hardest jobs out there, not to mention disgusting. Why cant you all just grasp what the thread is talking about and make comments about my car being hurt. I honestly dont know what happend to my car or how it is going to be payed for. I bought my car through my parents, but with my money cuz they know a lot more about financial stuff. I dont even think I understand what a warranty is because I am still a kid.(although I have a slight idea of what it is) All I know is now my car is ok and I went and picked it up today. Thank you guys for you support. Oh and when I got there I was pissed. When I first got into my car at the dealer when I went to pick it up, there was a long pen ink mark across the red leather area of my drivers seat. Not to mention there was also a whole punch of muddy hand prints and marks all over the car, so I got them to clean up the prints and clean my seats. So no more pen or mud marks and I am happy. I have such bad luck. Well again thx.

oh, and to reply to jaedcem, the weird thing is, there were no warning lights on. People keep asking me that, and I saw nothing. I read some of the manual where they show what the warning lights stand for. Like I said I know nothing of cars, I am not experienced and educated about them like you all are.

I had to ask the dealer to clean my car when I went to get something fixed.

Just ignore all the crap and pay attention to those that grasp the concept. I understand you are interested in getting help with your car and some people have nothing better to do than make fun of someone.

I have the same problem with spelling and have found that typing in MS Word, running the spell checker, copy & paste into your post is ALWAYS a very good idea. Even if it is for a short one liner. You will still have the problem of spelling the wrong word correctly though.

F#@&off guys give him a break.

Wow.

1) The X-Men spoiler is ugly.

2) Change your own oil.

3) Air cooler? Man if you love this car so damn much get some information out of the dealership.. there is no air cooler.

You don't make any sense. To me it sounds like you popped your hood one day to show off how cool your car was and unhooked something you shouldnt have.

he means oil cooler. no doubt they looked at the capacity specs in his manual and saw how much it actually holds instead of how much is supposed to changed. so they probably tried to get ALL of the oil out by taking off one of the oil cooler lines to try to drain them also and then didnt reconnect them properly.

This thread is classic!! Lol :D Samuri, shame on you for going to Jiffy Lube. Have you sent a certified letter to the owner of that Jiffy Lube franchise? You may want to do this. Also, find out what the repair charge will be? You may want to just pay it yourself and fight Jiffy Lube after the fact for the money. Why? You will get your car quicker.

Good luck.

It is classic, and highlights the value of a good education (or lack thereof.) There is a great spell checker out there; it's called "School." Focus on that; it will get you far ahead in life when your '8 is but a rusting hulk.

Certified letter to Jiffy Lube sounds great. What will you get, a year's worth of free oil changes? Yeah, right.
