My 8 won't start ;/
Tried to start my Rx-8 192 HP Manual today but no way it would :| The lights and everything turns on but it just won't start. It makes a weird wheezing noise when I try but no fucking way it will start. Is it dead? :icon_no2: :icon_no2: :icon_no2:

192hp? lol maybe its flood, hold down your gas and cluch at the same time and hold down the key for a min, after that let go and turn it on normal
|
192? Is that a 5 spd?
|
Try two things. First, the de-flooding procedure in the manual. Second, check the coils by hooking up a simple inductive timing light to each plug wire to see if it's getting any fire. Beyond that we need more information.
Was it running fine before? How did you shut the car off the last time it did run? Was it fully warmed up or did you move the car for a wash or something and shut it off cold? Is you car still under warranty? Did you install any mods? "Wheezing noise"? Please elaborate. |
Yeah was properly warmed up. Just parked it as normal. Yeah it is a 192 HP 5 speed manual. No mods, 24.900 KM on it 2005 model. Don't really know how to explain the sound. Don't know how it can be flooding seeing it was for sure properly warmed up.

Get a jump from someone. The fact that the dash lights and other things light up means nothing. Your car is an automatic or a manual. The manual makes 232 horsies, and the automatic makes 197. |
I don't know how many times I have to explain that Europe has got a 5-speed manual version too.
|
Same thing happened to mine last year....I thoght it was flooded, but the fuel pump had died. Replaced under warranty.

O_o ?
|
Take out the plugs and dry them with solvent, if wet.
Turn engine over, foot hard on the gas, with plugs out. This will purge any free fuel out. Plugs back in, get a boost and good luck. S |
Uh but it's not flooded.
|
How do you know its not flooded?
Im sure your attempts of trying to make it start have caused the engine to flood. I would suggest doing the un-flooding procedure. Then have a good charged battery and crank it one more time. |
Ehm but then again, why didn't it start in the first place?
|
Look friend, at this point you can either:
A. listen to the advice given (flooded, low battery, coil ect.) B. give more information C. call the dealer and let them sort it out. You choose. We tried to help you. |

You either had it running prior to the initial no start by not letting warm up which would cause it to flood for the next time around. OR You had the car sitting, maybe the battery became weak. |
