Mother Squeaker!

I have a 2006 8 with about 4000 miles on it. About two weeks ago my clutch pedal spring started making a noise whenever I pressed or released it. It sounds like a kitten meowing. It was anoying but not enough to make a special trip to the dealer. I was just going to wait until I needed my next oil change. Just recently my shift boot started squeaking whenever I change gears. This has put a whole new perspective on it. So the clutch meows when I press it, my shift boot squeaks when I change gears, and my clutch meows again when I release it. Thats 1 squeak and two meows per gear change. That means 6 squeaks and 12 meows stand between me and getting to 6th gear. If I can not resolve this problem soon im going to post a DIY on how to remove your clutch pedal spring and shift boot with a shot gun. suggestions?

Thanks for the post but it is deff the spring and the actual shift boot. I work at best buy as a MECP so I know all about finding random rattles and noises. My problem is what to do to fix it.

I had that same problem and the dealership replaced my clutch pedal and it's all gone now! Bring it to the dealer!

meow meow meow meow ,,meow meow meow meow ,sounds like a Meow Mix commercial.
Get that car to the dealer so they can remove that poor kitten from under your clutch pedal.
As for the squeak maybe a mouse? That would explain the kitten (looking for the mouse).

Auburn, AL. There is only one dealership within 60 miles. I will drop by and see what they say about it. As far as the shift boot goes I have no freakin idea. I dont know if its the leather itself rubbing together or insulation under the leather.... Im stumped.

My clutch spring squeeks (like a screendoor spring) when I depress my clutch...
Perhaps yours is doing the same thing...?
Next trip into the dealer I'll ask them to take a look...
They'll probably just spray it with WD-40...

Ja, go to the dealer.

Easy fix. Better yet if you fixed it with a friend, then you can learn more about cars.

I got the shift boot squeak as well, I apply some autoglym leather cream. That eliminates it for 3 months after each application

So apply four times and you're set for a year right?

I am in a way glad that i am not alone now
I also get the strange more of a squeek noise(can be spring) when pressing and depressing the clutch pedal, but then I also started to feel a roughness in the pedal (the feel trough the pedal in my foot) that feels as if it can be the thrust bearing maybe.
It feels rough and as if the bearing is on the way out and then the grinding is transmitted back with the brake fluid pressure to the pedal.

Can it be the thrust bearing?
I told the dealers, it must go for service next friday, they will check it then.

I drive a lot but all is long.......distance with less than half the clutch usage than a normal driver. I now have about 50000miles on

did anyone had this before?

Philip

My clutch pedal squeak makes more of a "reeeeeek" sound than a meow.
I'm due for an oil change in another 1,000 miles, so I'm planning on holding out until then.
