Moonroof controls

Does anyone know for sure where the controls for the moonroof are. Why did they call it the moonroof anyway? Any questions about Australia will be answered if offered. I have a pink beard.

A moonroof has glass. A sunroof is just metal.

Looks like basically the same moonroof and controls as the Mazda 6. The left hand rocker switch tilts it up and down at the rear, and the right-hand rocker slides it open and shut.

I was opting for the moonroof... but now that I seen a better shot of it from the Laguna meet... I'm changing my mind and getting one with out.

I dred  moonroofs that come out like that. If it slided in that would be a different story. Not only that I loose about 50-75lbs. of the weight.

Technically, it's the other way around. But the two terms have been used as the other so often that it doesn't matter anymore.

Yeah, I was under the impression that since the glass panel is tinted you can use it as a window during the day without intense glare from the sun, making it a "sunroof," while a metal panel is somewhat intended to be used only at night, making it a "moonroof."

I completely dissagree with both of you:

It's too bright and hot during the day to have the shade open and the glass closed. Either you have it completely open during the day or not at all. There by a metal SUNROOF is all you need.

At night when its cooler if you still want to see out (see the moon) you just leave the glass closed.

You two must live in much cooler areas.

around here (Fredericton, NB, Canada), Moonroofs are motorized and a sunroof is typically a plain aftermarket install that you operate by hand. Just my .02 cents worth.

Moonroof Controls

Go down to your friendly Mazda dealer. Get in a Mazda6 with a moonroof. Look up...

They are exactly the same.

That's my point about the two terms being used for each other so often, one means the other nowadays.
