Mirror, Mirror on the floor...
...This situation I do abhor.
Okay, so my rear-view mirror fell off today. Nothing special; it happens, right? Sure, even while driving. ...but has it ever happened not because the adhesive failed, but because the CHUNK of GLASS (about 2mm thick) it's holding onto broke off? "J.B. Weld'll fix it." Sure did, that is until I *lightly* pressed the mirror's mounting plate to the glass [about the amount of pressure to manually close your computer's optical drive]. Now, there's an almost perfectly vertical crack from weather-strip to weather-strip. :wallbash::wallbash: This is the original glass, at five years of age. Anyone else experience major windshield failure similar to this? . |
I have heard of this before, my buddies cracked as well, off to go get a new windshield...

wow, thats crazy.

If you have two drivers or wife or girl friend that consistantly changes the mirror, I have seen it on an 8 year old car.
There is special glue for glass. Nothing else works. I've tried over the year and you have to use Glass Glue. |
