Me and my New 8 =]

First off, let me show you the picture of me and my 8:
http://myspace-013.vo.llnwd.net/0139...97273013_l.jpg

I drove the car home on sunday... Pretty much brand new...

It's fully loaded, GT, navi, red/black interior, sunroof etc...

I'm LOVING the car so far I'm just trying to decide what to do as far as my investments towards it, and what I should do first ;) (window tint is otw)

I'm thinking either Black rims w/ chrome tip or just chrome rims.. not sure yet.. suggestions of rims that would look good would be nice ;)

Anyway It's my second baby =] or should i say.. maybe my first? haha

rglbegl 11-08-2006 06:45 PM

welcome to the addiction

puch96 11-08-2006 06:46 PM

Hope you enjoy your new baby.....

XDEEDUBBX 11-08-2006 06:53 PM

no chrome please...congrats btw

LHpitcher4 11-08-2006 06:54 PM

Nice car man----I'm hopin' for the EXACT same one (color, interior, etc.)---

Where'd you get yours? (ebaymotors, dealer, friend, stole it, etc.) :)

SoFL_RX8 11-08-2006 06:55 PM

Start hiding money from yourself now (to pay those pesky 'Bills'), and welcome to the club!

jstkilntim 11-08-2006 06:57 PM

Welcome!

Rootski 11-08-2006 06:59 PM

I think black is the only color that looks good with the red and black interior. Congratulations and welcome to the club.

As far as mods go, it depends if you want to go for cosmetic mods or performance mods. Your door is in the way of the front vents, so I can't see if you have strakes or not. If not, the stainless steel strakes are a very good buy for a quick and relatively cheap way to sharpen things up. Clear corners are also essential, especially for a black 8.

I don't know much about rims (mine are stock) but if you want to go chrome, Mazda makes chrome ones in the OEM style that are gorgeous but pretty expensive.

You'll also want to look into either the Hymee or Racing Beat Oil/AC screens that protect your condensers from damage. Can save you a lot of money in repair costs.

For performance, this car responds very well to suspension mods, especially sway bars and coilovers which can be had for a good price. The only way to get a significant gain in horsepower is through forced induction. There are some kits out now that can take you up to 300 whp with just 6psi. But if you don't want to totally void your warranty, the best way to go is with power pulleys (Agency makes a good one) and a hi-flow cat or catless midpipe (I have the RX7store/Bonez Supercat, and it's great).

Anyway, enjoy the new ride.

deathwish 11-08-2006 07:09 PM

I got the car through hours and hours of pain.. the story is kinda crazy.

I spent months looking for one that was almost brand new, with the exact options I wanted (GT, Navi, Sunroof, Red/Black Interior, Appearance Package) and I finally found it.. One problem: The car was located 1200 miles away from me.

Solution: At this point I was desperate, I recieved 120 photos and 6 videos of the car and decided I was buying it, we settled a deal and shortly after scheduled a plane ticket for my father and I to fly to michigan, and soon after buying the car, we drove back to Florida (18 hrs) .

It was so worth it... I love the car now.. and btw, it does have the strakes on the side...

WinningBlueAlwaysWins 11-08-2006 07:11 PM

Nice. What options do you come with? :hitit:

camaro194 11-08-2006 07:25 PM

Looks very nice! Post up more of the pics! I really like the red/black interior with the black exterior paint.

drmrw 11-08-2006 08:03 PM

Nice! I always liked the red/black leather!

d j 11-08-2006 08:18 PM

looks sharp! congratulations!

UFGator12 11-08-2006 08:22 PM

How old are you? There are several teenage members including me. I'm 17 and got my 8 on my 16th bday. The ladies at your high school will love it. Haha, they always want to ride with me over all my other friends. Haha, gotta love that backseat.

deathwish 11-08-2006 08:41 PM

I'm 17... I knowwww all the girls love that shit. I pulled into my school parking lot after school (because i have early release so Im usually gone by the time schools out) Next thing I know, I have a huddle around my car with a buncha my friends (mostly girls) looking at it, i love when they see the navi/suicide doors, that just tops it all off specially with the black/red interior..

anyhow im proud of the one I picked out, it looks amazinggg.. just need to tune it up with some tint and rims ;)

Theres 1 other RX8 at the school and mine blows it away, in every way.. lol

Im so glad I chose the 8 ;) It drives soo smooth, Ive driven lots of nice cars like my uncles lambo and porsche gt2, not that this compares to them at all, but for the price of the car, it's a beauty... any anyone confused on what colors to get... this is the best combo in my opinion. The red/black interior contrasts so well with the black exterior.

Thanks for your input guys.. more input on the rims would be nice... thx :)

UFGator12 11-08-2006 09:34 PM

Thataboy. Ya man, nothin' better than the chicks ooing and ahhing over the inside of your car, cranking that super sweet rotary up, and having the navi pop open. Chea son, that's the best. Well, next to taking it up to 9k. Everytime I do it, girl's are like that was fun! Do it again! Haha, I love this car. But, I don't have the black/red inside. I have the all black on black and I do have tint too. I recommend 20%. It's illegal here in GA, but it looks straight so I got it anyways. Check it out!

Are you burning my 8? Haha, just playin'. I like the stock rims, and if I could afford some decent aftermarket rims I would go for them.

haha it's cuz once you start modding appearance drastically, stock never seems to look as great as you once thought it was.

congrats on the ride, deathwish.

Mandy 11-10-2006 03:01 PM

Try to get a life instead of making fun of people on online forums, Mr. Cool Guy... act tough on the internet hiding behind that dell monitor of yours.

Smokin_LaLa 11-12-2006 11:31 AM

Hot car.

chrism 11-12-2006 01:57 PM

Congrats and welcome!

Mandy 11-13-2006 12:27 PM

Your uncle wouldn't happen to be Dr. Michael Gray, would he?

Edit: nevermind, Michaels isn't the roadster Murcielago

stylett9 11-13-2006 12:55 PM

when it comes to your car nothing is an investment. But if your talking about ways to waste your money for your own satisfaction then i'd say go forced induction. The car handles great already and can blow most other cars out of the water. So just increase straight line power.

stylett9 11-13-2006 12:58 PM

oh and btw, everyone leave him alone. Yes he's young and his mom and dad probably help him out in some way or another, but if all of you were in the situation to have a sweet ride in highschool i'm sure you would have jumped on it too. Atleast he's not like this stupid girl i knew in highschool who got a brand new M3 when she turned 16.

I grew up in Naples Fl, there were kids in my high school with Porsche 911's, corvette's, supras, shit one kid drove a bentley.

Cars dont make people stupid, people do.

CarAndDriver 11-13-2006 03:55 PM

Was that stupid pic of yourself necessary? I guess so (EGO).

Please don't drink and drive. Save us all the potential grief.

Most of the kids I knew in that situation were really screwed up kids.

stylett9 11-13-2006 05:28 PM

lol...that is true...

Hoot 11-13-2006 09:37 PM

just because the dude is drinking in some pic doesnt mean he drives drunk

Whatever. My parents bought me my car and pay my insurance and fix it when I get it dented. Yeah, I know, I'm lucky... but yeah, if you had the opp to get this car for that, I'm sure you all would have done it too.

deathwish 11-15-2006 11:11 AM

Actually, my dad didn't pay for shit.. I started a business when I was 14 years old doing webhosting, game server hosting, and web design. The type of car I have has nothing to do with my intelligence or self expectations.. But I guess you could assume that.. Maybe it's just a way to vent out that you werent able to have this kind of car when you were 17... But you don't need to take that out on me haha.

Thanks to everyone who gave me input without going off topic.
