Mazda Warranty Service

I was told recently that I have to wait for the regional Service Director to approve my warranty work. I almost felt as if I was being lectured for having the nerve to claim warranty work on my car.... So my question is how many of you have had the same experience or is this just a local dealership?

I had my oil pan replaced, no questions asked. Then again, it was a known problem.

In defense of the dealership, if they don't get approval for work they've done, they don't get paid. I work in a retail environment where I have to authorize warranty work. If I tell a customer we can repair something at no charge and then the manufacture rejects the claim, we're out the money.

I have yet to have anything I've brought up to the dealer questioned. Of course the service dept has had to check it out but once they notice the problem they move right on to getting it fixed. Oh and they do check to see if there has been a service notice on the item but that has nothing to do with whether or not they will fix a problem under warranty.

Had two repair experiences. First warranty request the day after bringing the car home was denied: Broken Seat Belt Buckle - Don't Do This! It was $80 bucks, I had been a moron and I didn't call Mazda to complain. I suspect they would have covered it if I had complained.

Second warranty request for a flooding repair was denied and I had to take it to Mazda NA before the repair was covered, then I was lecured on an invoice that if it happened again, I'd have to pay: Flooding Not Covered Under Warranty

I agree... I have not experienced the "cheerful repair" I had hoped I'd get with the purchase of a new car. Lots of satisfaction surveys though... phone calls, letters. What's up with that?
