dmc27 12-26-2006 08:53 AM

damnyankee 12-26-2006 09:12 AM

hey....I don't like the looks of that tag. do you?

dmc27 12-26-2006 09:21 AM

You do realize there is only one place this thread can go, right?

dannobre 12-26-2006 01:47 PM

Not another one :): Wait till the New Year....we have hit our 06 quota for Syn VS Dino oils.......

PerformRX-8 12-26-2006 03:35 PM

It doesn't really matter what type of oil you use... do a search there are hundreds of threads about this... RotaryGod broke it down for us really welll....

Bkmckay2 12-26-2006 03:42 PM

I say screw the warranty!!!!!!! It is going to run out eventually. I just ordered my case of Royal Purple today; picking it up tomorrow; and installing a bunch of stuff next Tues

There's a loyal following among some on the flrx8 forum who think anything but dino oil will kill the engine.

They don't seem to understand how synthetics are made, or what they do, and no amount of discussing the topic will change their minds.

I put together this FAQ on the topic:

DaveCM203 12-26-2006 04:33 PM

Oh dear god. Here we go again. PLEASE, FOR THE SAKE OF HUMINTIY. SOMEONE END THIS THREAD!

Clavius 12-26-2006 04:40 PM

Jax reman are the people that rebuild them, or...

It could be from the man on the grassy knoll :squint:

You could call Scott a liar, But I do not advise it.

mysql101 12-26-2006 06:46 PM

Digital, no one is denying that mazda's official stance is that synthetics are not recommended.

The tag in of itself doesn't show us anything new.

Digital_Damage 12-26-2006 06:51 PM

Was not discussing the Mazda stance, damnyankee is eluding to the fact that the tag is not legit.

BoosTED 12-26-2006 06:58 PM

Nice find. :hahano:

MazdaManiac 12-26-2006 07:26 PM

1) Notice the date on that tag? August 1, 2001?
2) Notice that Betsey from MazSport says: "DO NOT use synthetic oil in your engine. It is okay to change the other oils after your 30k maintenance to synthetic, but not the engine... "

I wonder if that is Scott's official stance?

that is absolutely NOT what I'm saying.

I'm saying , that if that tag is on reman engines, or in fact original engines, but the car's owner never sees that tag , what the hell good is it.

I'm not questioning the poster at flrx8club at all. I'm saying if mazda puts that tag on the car, WHY THE F)))))

don't they put something in our owners manual telling us not to use synthetic.

I don't like the looks of that tag means I don't like finding out that we shouldn't use synthetic on a GD website instead of from MAZDA directly.

like I said on flrx8club.net, if i didn't read websites, I 'd be putting synthetic in my car and never thinking twice about it

BECAUSE MAZDA HAS NEVER TOLD ME NOT TO.
