Mazda NA called me
I rec'd a call on Tuesday from Mazda North America. The guy wanted to talk about my latest dealer visit to take care of my punchlist of issues.
He asked me about hard-starts, pinging, lack of power, etc. I told him the M flash helped with a lot of these issues. I told him my A/C is still iffy, and I have not had the fix for it yet.
Anyway, he asked if I would be willing to let a Product Engineer from Mazda inspect my car. Said I was one of 6 people in the US he was contacting for this.
Anyone else get this call?
Oh, he also said that Mazda US and Japan monitor this site, and gather market information from it.

I wish they would contact me. I love the car, but it certainly has a lot of quirks. I have had every fix Mazda has come up with and my AC is also still iffy. Last night after driving for 30 minutes, I went into the video store for 20 minutes. I came out and had to crank the engine for 5 to 6 seconds before it barely caught. What is with this car and starting?

Must be something to do with F1 cars and the 8 having "highly strung" motors.

Shame they don't share the same HP's though.
Yeah, but why would you want less HP? The F1 car has the rev limit down at around 6500.
As far as mazda inspecting the car.... they may get a very different viewpoint of the car depending if they hit on someone with an older model who may have problems vs newer ones who are running fine.
wonder what they're trying to do

I feel as if I have been having more issues after the last
ECU reflash. My engine doesn't want to start on the first crank, and I have a much rougher idel than before. All in all I feel as if the engine has become more quirky than ever.
