Mazda Dealers in SoKali

okay.. here it is... i went to several, i mean several dealers in southern cali and here is the scoop.. the bull$hit, and the honest dealers... i dont want to badmouth the bad ones, but i will name the good ones... please dont think im a loser visiting all these dealers.. i did it to get info for you guys, i am all hyped to buy one, and just wanted to hear some truth.. here goes...

basic questions i asked

First about deposits
then allocations
shipping date
MSRP and sell price
those were the basic questions i asked...

first the good ones...

Laguna Hills/Phillips Mazda... here are some straight shooters... they said they never marked up any car before, and wouldnt expect to EVER mark up a car... he said they would be willing to take deposits, but he doesnt know when the hell the car is coming out.. it could be in january, or june... just does not know... he took my name down, and said i can call him back in december to get the real info... he was very honest, said they were a little smaller dealer and may get less cars than some bigger ones in the area.. but he was real honest and trying to help me out...

Hunington Beach/heritage Mazda... very cool people as well... taking fully refundable deposits that will go to the price of the car... will put in writing that they will charge MSRP, and if by any chance that changes, will get the money back.. the check is just a hold, and they will not deposit it... they have no idea when the car is coming in, and the girl said if dealers tells you when its coming in, its bull$hit... so like them... they are cool...

alhambra Mazda was cool too.. same as hunington... hopefully cars would roll in early 2003, jan or feb.. but that is wishful thinking... will take deposits, talked to fleet manager and same deal as hunington beach... fully refundable deposit and they would immediately let me know when the cars are rolling in and the exact colors and options on cars...

Glendale/star Mazda... honest... he basically said, i dont want to mislead you.. we are not taking deposits, or might not ever since mazda is not lookint to let dealers know when the cars are coming out until, right before.. he feels its may/june... he took my number down and said i can call him anytime.. he even apologized for not being of much help, and he would be open to me asking any questions in the future.. he basicallly said, guys like you know more than me LOL...

now the bad ones... the rest in the area, irvine, santamonica, browning, culver city, and don kott.. the guys i talked to there was spitting out bull$hit.. i dont want to point out who said what, but this is the general $hit..

-we will take a deposit, but u have to sign that you will buy a car even if it is above msrp ($HIT)
-we will be charging market rate, which probably will be 5K above ($HIT)
-you better give us the deposits quick cuz a lot of people are interested and dealers are not getting the many.. i asked, how do you know how many you are getting cuz mazda didnt let anyone know yet, u are just speculating... the guy said, cuz he had inside info.. i just laughed... $HIT...
-one dealer said that they are getting TWo in DECEMBER... BULL$HIT...

when i think of more.. ill post on this thread... ask me any questions... peacce
