Maybe buying 09 22k miles few more ???

I have been looking for a while now, there is an 09 with 22k on it GT for about 19000. On the series 2 cars, do I need plugs and coils right away? If not, when? Do I still need to add a quart of oil between changes? What other things to look for? I have read the other threads pretty good, just don't want to miss anything.
Thanks
Billy

I did plugs and coils on mine at 35k. It's a series 1 (2007). I don't know if the series 2 is different.

LOL, that's good you did a little research. Yes, you need to check your oil, but I don't do it on every fill up, nor do I go through a quart between oil changes. A lot of this is media hype that was presented to the public over time, but it is good to take more caution with a rotary though. I'd go about 30k before plugs and wires and coils. When you get there, just give Charles Hill a call at Black halo racing (they have a website) and just use his ignition conversion kit, believe me you will save a lot of money and grief in the future if you plan on keeping the car.

500 not too shabby, if you read through enough threads on here it's a wonder anyone buys one of these cars at all. All I read about is engine failures and OPEC sending out thank yous to RX8 owners. So between 25 and 30k I should replace the ignition and plugs. Other than that is there anything I need to be aware of in the first 22k miles?

Compression test? I'm not sure if that's necessary but it helps you sleep at night. Beyond the normal wear and tear you should be fine if the previous owner maintained it properly.

Usually, 30,000 miles is when you change your plugs, wires, and coils. It really depends on the situation of the car. Some do it before 30k, and some do it after 30k. For myself, i never had my tune-up yet, and i have 35k miles on it. I am planning to have a tune-up as soon as i order the parts. As for the oil, check it whenever you get a gas fill-up. Anyway, read the stickies and follow the procedures, good luck.

Series two has an update to the coils.
They last much longer.

Not many complaints about them.

Check out the series two section.

I have a 2009 GT, original owner. 1 coil failed at 26k so I would recommend you change coils/wires/plugs as a precaution.

i did my plugs around 15k after my bhr upgrade cause i was getting rough idle and a random misfire code, i was premixing almost since i bought the car new last year, so imo i would def check and clean them
