Broken Visor backorder

Well, I am one of the few who have finally ended up with a broken visor. All I did was pull the visor down, and it split right in the middle with wires and junk popping out (like popcorn). Well, took it to the dealer, they said they do not know when they can get a new one due to a "national backorder". I guess this is more of a widespread problem than we originally thought.

Really? Mine just broke as well. The dealership said they'd call when it comes in; they estimated around 10 days...

Call around?

I just went through the same thing, and got the same response...

"Get in line"

I called around and another dealer happened to have mine in stock so I took it there.

Mine took 4 weeks to arrive. Kind of a pain the *** to drive around an entire month with the passenger side visor dangling down. Good ol' mazda QA.

Wow I'm glad mine happened when it did. 2 whole days and I was good as new. It was the drivers side.

Y'alls who had yours replaced, can you tell if the replacement is any better / stronger? Mine feels like it wants to break.

Well it's the same piece so I don't think they've made any changes to them...they just put new ones on of the same thing you had before. And hey, if this one breaks they can replace it again at their expense. No sweat off my back.

So its sounds like the replacements will need replacing in the not too distant future.

Ok, Jeff, what's your secret visor project ........ don't be like you know who - 240 rwhp ......... j/k of course. I know you'd never do that with your open sharing ways.

Same thing happend to my mother's car. She bought the sunscreen that is held in place by the visors and the driver side visor broke in about 4 months. I'm not sure if shes gotten it fixed yet. I wonder if mazda is working on a way to keep these from breaking, or if just being more careful when pulling the visor down will help it last longer.
