Looking for past thread or help

Hi guys. I've been searching through all my posts/threads etc today. And I can't find it.

Currently I'm in the process of installing my mazsport ignition solution, about halfway getting it fully installed. Anyways I had to take off my AEM CAI to do it obviously. Anyways I remember reading on a thread someone was doing something under the hood and had there CAI off, and if i remember correctly, it was Old Dragger or Charles Hill telling the OP that while you have you CAI uninstalled it would be a good idea to clean something. What was that something? I thought he said to clean it with rubbing alchohol with a cotton swab or cottonball. And the OP was greatful and posted something like "yep great idea that thing was kegged" with crap. Perhaps carbon?

It's the MAF sensor. Some owners had a problem with oil from aftermarket filters getting caught and junking up the sensor.

It's located on the front side of the accordion tube leading from the intake. Bottom right of the pic here - http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...er_removed.jpg

Unhook the wiring harness, unscrew the MAF and take it off. Hit the inside with rubbing alcohol or electrical cleaner and reinstall when dry.

By the way, you don't have to take the intake off to uninstall the MAF.

And....be gentle with it.

I would recommend a can of MAF sensor cleaner, and don't actually touch it. if you mangle the sensor you lose $130, automatically.

Bose is right, I was going to suggest that. I don't like actually touching it either.
I haven't had to do it on this car yet, but on others I have.....and never did touch it.
