Insurance is heavily dependent upon where you live. Although I only pay about $90/month to insure my 2010 R3, full coverage, $300 deduct, accident forgiveness. I'm also married and 38... so that factors in as well...

Wow! Insurance must be high up there in America's hat! I think I pay $38 /mo for basically the same coverage, but mine is bundled with my homeowner's and umbrella policies.

In case it is not obvious enough to the OP in his reading:

Compression test, COMPRESSION TEST, COMPRESSION TEST! If your prospective car does not pass a proper, rotary-specific compression test, you are setting yourself up for extreme heartache.

^must be, because 90/month is considered a steal. I know some people who pay over $300/month just for 1 vehicle...

I pay 2000 Dollars year now

Have a search

Hey bro, try a quick search theres tons! haha :)

best way to search =is by using google:siterx8club.com "that you are looking for here"

Theres already a ton of threads about this.

Ask for the service history, about the oil etc, check the exhausts also for carbon build up, if its clean you probably know the guy really well looks after the car.

Hope that helps.

A rotary compression test BEFORE purchase is a must, or else you could be buying a failing or failed engine, which will costs you thousands to replace. Also try to get the service records and check for the following, depending on the car's mileage:

RX8 Club’s recommended maintenance schedule, more comprehensive and proactive than Mazda’s schedule.
30,000 miles:
- Replace Ignition coils
- Replace Plug wires
- Replace Spark plugs
- Clean MAF (mass air flow sensor)
- Clean ESS (e-shaft sensor)
- Reset ESS profile
- Clean power steering connections
- Clean battery terminals and clamps
- Replace transmission fluid
- Replace coolant (Mazda FL-22 is highly recommended)
- Replace air filter
- Replace brake fluid (fluid in the brake lines AND the clutch line)
~$300 USD in parts if you shop smartly.

every 60,000:
...all 30,000, plus...
- Clean all chassis electrical grounding points
- Replace accessory belts
- Clean OMP lines
- Replace rear differential fluid
- Replace thermostat
- Clean / Straighten AC condenser fins
- Clean / Straighten oil cooler fins
- Inspect catalytic converter
- Clean / Inspect intake valving
- Consider / inspect all points in 90,000+ as well, many items fail early
~$130 USD in parts if you shop smartly.

90,000:
...all 30,000, plus any 60,000 not yet done, plus...
- Replace coolant bottle
- Replace radiator hoses
- Replace radiator
- Replace front O2 sensor
- Replace motor mounts
- Inspect clutch pedal assembly for flex / weld breaks
~$900 USD in parts if you shop smartly.
At 100k, anything original in the cooling system is really suspect and failure prone. It represents the biggest threat to your engine.
