hook the battery to a trickle charger and put the car on blocks so you dont get flat spots on your tires.

Fill up the gas tank completely and add some gas stabilizer. This helps get rid of most of the air out of the gas tank which could cause condensation.

Anyways, either put it on blocks like mentioned before, or at the very least put the tire pressure up to the max listed on the tires. everything mentioned, trickle charger and full tank + stabilizer are all things you definitly need to do to preserve your car so you can hop in and drive next season without worry.

Question... putting the car on blocks, wouldn't that just represent another surface to the tire and still get flat spots? What am I missing here?

you put the blocks under the frame, not under the tires. Think jackstands.

Put some fabric softener sheets in the car too. the smell can keep small critters away, and your car will smell fresh in the spring.

you dont have to put it on blocks if you leave it in neutral and just roll it a few inches around every few days, provided your room is big enough. Just a suggestion if you're too lazy to get blocks, and dont mind knowing that in the long run, your laziness will cause you to do MORE work, thus defeating the purpose of being lazy, and sucking you into a black hole due to your hypocracy. that is of course, assuming your hooker is african american.

Do you have a loan on this car? If you do it does not matter if you store it for the winter it still has to be insured. I tried doing this back in 95 with my new Monte Carlo. I put storage insurance on it and put it in my garage 60 miles away and a few days later I got a call from the bank asking what was going on. I told them it was stored for the winter and wouldn't be driving it until spring. They said it didn't matter. I argued that I do it on my Harley's every winter. They said its different on recreational vehicles. I ended up storing it for the winter and paying full coverage.

^^^ wondering the same thing... of course, I've never lived in a climate cold enough that you had to put a sports car away for the winter, so I don't anything about it.

Heck, around here, still gets gets cold, but you'll get some nice days to drop top on a convertible in December and January. I don't know how you people stand it. I wouldn't live there if I had the choice.

I have a Cadi and my 8 , that I put in storage during the winter . All I need is to call my insurance and notify them of the change . So I go with storage insuranc for those 3 months.

Car payments and the car being insured are two different things. Your still making your car payments , I hope. I have State Farm , you should call your agent and check.

You should keep comprehensive coverage and remove collision coverage. The bank should be fine with that as long as it is in storage.
