Knee Pad options?

My right knee rests on the console (like many here I am sure) and its driving me nuts ... I want a knee pad.. I made one for my old honda prelaude but I'd rather have something that looks a bit more professional in my new baby .. the Mazda speeds are way to pricey for me... so they are out... I've seen ones online for hte Mini ... 35 bucks!!! but i cant seem to find any generic ones online .. anyone else out there encoutner this problem?

Even the 350 comes with them installed .. boooooo :)

Cheers

The fellow who sold the foam center console covers was thinking of making them. I hope he does.

It would be nice to have a less expensive option than the MS pads. When tracking the car I too have the same problem, on the center console, and the drivers side door. It is worst during autocross. If anyone finds some, post it up please, I dont want to drop $250 on some leg rest pads.

I've been thinking about this as well, and can't see spending that much on a knee pad. I'd suggest finding your local upholstery shop and having them custom make one or two for you. Any shop that handles custom motorcycle applications should be able to whip up what you need for a lot less that $250. The last motorcycle seat I had made used about 10 times the foam and fabric and cost about $75.

Think out of the box. Be creative. Make your own. Go to Michel's or similar store.

Many different materials can be used for a pad.

I don't know if this will work for you, it's for a Corvette.

small pillow and some duct tape would do wonders, especially your wallet

I have the same trouble during Autox and track days, especially with my left knee against the speaker. The price for the Mazdaspeed ones is just ridiculous.

IIRC, you can buy pads on eBay or at some auto parts stores for $20-$30 US each.

Another option - Use a slip-on knee pad from a sporting good store.

left knee was killing me after the dragon, thinking about getting the mspd kneepads.

We will be offering this within the next 30 days...

Made from urethane foam - much much cheaper that the MS parts and no drilling into the car to install. Stay tuned!!!
