Keyless range?

Well i have the credit card looking key, but it doesnt have that much range.. I think only like 10 to 15 feet.. Is there any way of increasing range other than buying another alarm system?

Kafka May 5, 2009 01:55 PM

Put your card under your chin when press the button...it helps since you can use your jaw as an amplifier of the signal...

It really works. I did that in my VW .... :)

Have you replaced the battery? My 04's remote goes about 50 yards if nothing is in the way.

exsequor May 5, 2009 02:03 PM

my range is at least 100 feet..but im thinkin more like 200.

BLIPY May 5, 2009 02:34 PM

Yeah i replaced the battery.. Still nothing.. Do u guys also have the credit card key?? Or the regular one?

tjbourgoyne May 5, 2009 02:44 PM

Height I believe plays a part. I use to set off my car alarm from like 10 stories for shits and
giggles. A fresh battery should help though.

Rems31 May 5, 2009 03:03 PM

yea mine is the same...but I never use the remote. I just press the buttons on the car to unlock

DarkLord7854 May 5, 2009 03:03 PM

Hold it up to your skull, you can easily boost the range by half

exsequor May 5, 2009 03:13 PM

my ballsack amplifies it

h-khunterkiller May 5, 2009 03:49 PM

i may be a little paranoid, it but if you are amplifing the range with the fluids of your head in the long run is like sticking your head in the microwave

DarkLord7854 May 5, 2009 03:55 PM

Not anymore so than being surrounded by cell phones and other wireless devices all day long. In fact, the key's wireless waves are significantly weaker than those radiating from your cellphone when you hold it up to your ear, or those of a wifi chip in a laptop, etc

h-khunterkiller May 5, 2009 04:08 PM

just another device to add in. i ve always rather text for that reason

DarkLord7854 May 5, 2009 04:11 PM

Whether you're texting, on the phone, in your house, cell signals reach pretty much anywhere, thus you're always being bombarbed by these electrical waves. One device more or less won't make a noticeable difference

kersh4w May 5, 2009 04:26 PM

mine definitely works from over 100 feet consistently.

BLIPY May 6, 2009 01:10 AM
