Keep RX running for 2 months with worn seals
I had a hard, hot engine starting problem on my 2004 and the compression test from Mazda came out
Rotor #1 6.8, 6.8, 6.7 Rotor #2 5.7, 5.6 5.3 Since everything else is aging and needing replacement, I'm sadly letting go of my RX. I purchased a special order BMW M240i which is scheduled for delivery from Germany the last week of September. What can I do to ensure my engine runs for two more months? |
1. Upgrade to the 2 KW starter.
2. Drive it like you stole it. A Redline A Day Keeps The Mechanic Away. Assuming no smoke or coolant loss, there's nothing wrong with your '8. I've been driving my 8 hard for two-plus years with compression in the low 5's. No trouble. Just doesn't seem to matter at high RPM. |

I got similar numbers as above. Cat starts, just takes a second or two longer when hot. Anything you did to keep it running for that long?? Did you start premixing? Seafoam? Trying to keep it alive for at least a few months so maybe I can get s rebuild done.
