Just got back from the dealer. It was a long search to get excatly what I wanted. First comments: I have never seen a gas guage move so quickly. But hey i didnt buy the car for the gas mileage. Thanks to all on the boards for your help!

Its a simple equation: mediocre mileage (especially when new) + smallish tank + fun to drive = quickly moving fuel gauge.
