I'm planning to keep it stock dont want any problem with warranty, car is now on the way to my city, after I got it I'll post some pics..

Hello and Welcome . You should not have problem with warranty unless you mess with the engine . If you do exterior mods you'll be fine .

i like the way you think!

Renesis07 01-12-2009 11:10 AM

no mods = no fun ;)

mazdaverx7 01-12-2009 11:34 AM

for some, lol. i personally prefer unmodified cars. our 8's are extremely fun in stock form. i'm not going to win many "stoplight drags" but i can sure give my buddy and his modded 05 STi a run for his money in the corners!

+1

Sweet man! welcome to the club! there is a lot of priceless information on this website, please take a look around, and use the search function. There is very little this website has missed (I haven't seen anything myself).

You're going to love your sweet ride for a long time.

May I suggest?
The BIGGEST gains to the "Enjoyment" of the RX8 came in the form of:
Large Diameter Sway Bars
275 wide tires (I got the best grippy ones I could get) put them on 9.5 rims.

Your RX8 flies around corners, I never get tired of that either. If you give it a little TLC and wide tires, you'll soar around corners!!:jump:

RufusVonStorm 01-12-2009 01:35 PM

It's a good car, great times ahead!

04RX8man 01-12-2009 04:54 PM

nice welcome to the addiction....haha we all know about modding he will have it for awhile then want to buy one thing then it goes downhillfrom ther and before u know it the turbo will b on order!!!! lol

Sonoma8 01-12-2009 05:02 PM

04RX8man is right on the money, I started with clear corners and discover the joy, ummmmm addiction, of mods. My bank account has been yelling at me ever since!!!!

Also be warned, I have lost all track of time reading through the forum. Time flies when you're having fun as the saying goes....

05rex8 01-12-2009 06:05 PM

congrats, but I want to make the point that people should only start these threads once they actually have the car in their possession. It's kinda pointless without proof. ;)

04RX8man 01-12-2009 08:40 PM

haha sonoma is right about the time on this forum sometime u just sit down and think ill check out the boards for a few minutes then the next thing u know it's like 3 hourslater and u have put down over 100 posts and been reading tons of post and decide that u want to get this or that 4 ur car!!! haha

SpeedyTurtle 01-13-2009 02:47 PM

sorry for the thread derailment but since i couldn't find it in any other threads and it's kind of a newbie question but

i know there are two types of illumination lighting for the gauges. one has the white lights filling in the available areas and the radio hud and such are well lighted.

i also know there is the option to illuminate the dash with blue. is the only way to switch between the two turning the knob near the DSC button? i roll it down until it clicks off of the white lights, and then roll it up as far as possible without clicking over to the white lights. it seems when i switch it to the blue illumination, the lights on the radio and buttons are dimmer than when the lights are set to white. is this intended or is there a way to make the button/radio lights brighter when the dash is set to blue.

StealthTL 01-13-2009 02:52 PM

No, you are right, the only way to achieve blue is to turn everything too dim.
