VA Its Been Awhile need adivce!!!! ASAP

Hey i need some adivce/what to expect and what should get changed or replaced when i get there.

I just got back from a 9 month deployment and ive had my beautiful rx-8 sit in an open but secured parking lot soaking up the weather and etc. it has sit for the full 9 months and hasnt been started once. i had put a fuel fresh tank of gas/oil and oil filter b4 i left. and some equalizer stuff that was recommended if the car was going to be sitting for a long period of time. thanks for the look.!!!!i do expect the battery to be done for.

I would recommend pulling the plugs before you try to start for the first time, and pour a little bit (could ML) of ATF into each housing. Give the seals some lubrication. If you can, I'd also recommend draining the gas tank and refilling with fresh gas. Filling it up was a mistake imo. At least put in some fuel stabilizer, though after the fact might not help much. Stay out of high load high RPM until you can get some fresh gas in there.

Expect it to idle really roughly for a drive cycle or two as well.

I think by "equalizer" he meant he put some fuel stabilizer in it.

Siphon the fuel and put fresh gas in there for sure. If the battery was left connected, it's probably dead and will need a jump. If that happens, let the car idle for at least 10 minutes and drive it easily. The ECU will need several days to re-learn and adjust accordingly.

I would also be concerned about motor oil that has sat and oxidized that long. Check your oil level before starting and at very least top it off with something fresh... though I would get it (and the filter) changed ASAP.
