Instrument Panel Problems

Had something very weird happen to me today and just wondered if anyone else had experienced the same problem..........

I was driving and the car seemed to lose power all of a sudden and not really taking the gas. I looked at the speedometer and I saw a flashing car symbol with skid marks. I thought this might mean the traction control was kicking in. However, I was in a straight strech with no curves to be seen. This happened two or three times in a few miles.

Shortly thereafter, my ABS light and brake light came on. Now I was doing 75, so I know my brake wasn't on. Also, my DSC light would not come on or off as I hit the DSC button. I continued to drive as I would be at my destination in a few minutes. When I arrived I turned the car off and immediately turned it back on with none of the lights I previously mentioned showing up on my console.

On my return trip home the same thing basically occured. All of this happened this evening and I haven't had a chance to call the Mazda dealership. Has anyone experienced this or hear anything like it before?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sounds like the system's had a conniption. It may be as simple as one of the wheel sensors coming loose, but it's certainly something that you will want to have your dealer investigate.

Yes, that sounds a little like what happened to a friend of mines car, I think it was a reatta, a 2 seat buick with digital dash. They put in a new dash twice, as I recall.

Didn't have the problem today and haven't had a chance to contact the dealer. Will hopefully do so tomorrow. I will keep you posted if anything develops. Thanks for the input guys.
