Installing Aero flares

What a nightmare. I got home from work at 2:00 yesterday and decided I'd have plenty of time to install my new aero flares. Yeah right. Bottom line is this is no easy task. I got the driver's side finished in about three hours. The problem is the rocker panel along the bottom of this car is made of a material which is comparable to tin foil. Everytime I would attempt to push the tabs into the holes I drilled it would push in and dent the rocker panel. I finally decided to get a screw driver and pry the metal out around the holes I drilled so that when I applied pressure to get the tabs into the holes it would just push the metal back to where it should be and not dent the area around the holes which were drilled. I still have to do the passenger side today. I am getting done work around the same time today so "hopefully" the project will get completed today. I do not reccomend anyone taking on this project on their own. Leave this install to the pros! It did'nt help that it was like 95 dgrees yesterday. I am not looking forward to this afternoon. I will post pics of the finished project. The drivers side did turn out great but it was definatley the most difficult DIY project to date.

Yea...the side aero flares can be a pit of a pain. I helped a forum member install his on his car and we took the cheap way out by not drilling the 4 or 5 holes needed on the side of the car. So far it is still holding up with no issues.

Can you scan or copy the drill hole pattern for me? I bought some side flairs from another member and I dont have the pattern for marking the holes...

Sorry I finished installing the other flare today and discarded the templates before I saw your post. Honestly you can just cut out strips of paper about four inches long and draw a circle on the strips where you match it up to the mounting locations on the aero flares.

The installation of the second flare went alot smoother. When drilling the holes apply very little pressure so you don't dimple the rocker panel. This makes all the difference in the world. Installation of the passenger side flare took less than an hour. I will take pics over the weekend.

I just gave mine to the body shop that's doing my repairs. Easy :) lol

I had my dealer install the front air dam, side flares, and rear flares. They quoted me $200 for the install and I let them do it. It was way more difficult than they expected and took them alot longer than planned, but they stuck to thier quote.
