Installed LED tail lights....but turn signals blink crazy
 

Today I put in new LED bulbs from rx8strakes. It came with two load resistors which i used for the brake lights on each side (pretty much no instructions on how to install so i did my best...). So all the lights works except for the turn signal which blink at twice the speed. When i put the regular stock bulbs in, it's normal. I've read somewhere that u can change how fast the lights blink, but does changing the bulb itself cause it to blink faster? Does it have to do with the voltage going through the wire?

on another note, has anyone bought the LED taillight kit from rx8 strakes? I'm curious to why there are only two resistors... I'll probably shoot them an email as well.

I could be mistaken, but I thought that the load resistors were for the turn signals? I recall reading that their purpose was to address the fast blinking problem..

The load resistors are necessary to prevent the hyper-blinking. No need for them on the brake lights unless you replace all three with LEDs in which case you must use at least one for one of the brake lights, otherwise the ABS light will be lit.

ohh....i c... so then the lights must be one circuit all together? not separate circuits on each side (right and left)?

I'm not sure what you are asking... but do this:

Remove the load resistors from the brake light circuits. Install them on the turn signals, it'll be probably fine to install one per side. Easiest is to install them in the trunk. Make sure they are attached in a way that they touch metal so that they'll use the car's body as heat sinks (they will get hot).

If you have two LED brake bulbs and leave the third light incandescent, you don't need anything for the brake lights. If you also replace the third brake light bulb with LED, then you'll need a load resistor on one of the brake bulbs (probably best is to use one with the third brake light).

Do you think it would be okay to attach one resistor to one turn signal and one to the brake light? I replaced the reverse, turn and brake bulbs (red,yellow, white) with LEDs. I was just wondering if the right side and left side of the car was one circuit or separate ones. I'll probably add one resistor to the turn light on the left side and a resistor for the brake light on the other side. However, if they act separately then that wouldn't work.....

No, that would not be enough.
One side for the turn signal is one circuit. So if you install a resistor to one turn signal, that side will be OK but the other side will be still hyper-blinking.

Wait so if I install LEDs into all 4 signals, I only have to out risitors into 2 of them.??? I can just do the back? I'd love to not have to mess with the front lights again...

It depends on the resistance...

I believe you need one for each blinker.
