IM honestly SICK of these KIDS saying that their stupid 94 Altima will beat a rx8...im sick of these kids saying a integra will beat a rx8...im sick of these kids saying that their civic would smoke the 8. BTW these kids in my school are really pissing me off bye saying there stock cars will beat my rx8.. yes my car is stock but i also jsut got it... IM jsut tired of it all guy.

 

take em to the track, and have them prove it. that should shut them up. make sure your track has some turns if you really want to rub it in.

 

just forget it. all it is, is smack talk. if you don't know these kids, don't even bother listening to them. if it really bothers you that much, then you'll have to do something to your car to make it faster. which will then turn into a 'who's bigger' contest. screw it.

But its starting to get anoying that every second i here from some kid in my school or wahtever..saying this and that..always trying to insult my car...trying to find a way around it..making it sound bad...im really getting on edge..like saying o dude you can never catch a S2000 or dude a GSR integra will smoke you...im like look i dont care.. i love my car.. and they just keep rambling on

 

well, point out what sucks about those cars... like the 8 looks nicer, it seats 4, it's actually a sports car that can do more than go in straight lines, it's higher quality than some of the cars listed... (Do you have manual or AT? if MT then some of the cars you listed you should be faster than,assuming they're stock, on a track of course. If not stock, then that's plenty good reason... stick a well tuned turbo on a 4 banger and it'll move pretty well)

They can talk all the trash they want, only reason they do it is because they wish they had what you had. And becuase they don't, they're going to praise their cars over your's just to **** you off. So while they cry themselves to sleep everynight, knowing that they own a 94 altima, integra, & civic.. you can sleep easy because the rx-8 is simply a beautiful driving machine.

Can't argue with that- most of those trashy souped up hondas/integras still end up looking ugly as hell after all the body work. And even once you spend all that money fixing up your family sedan turned ricer, you could have saved that money and bought a REAL sports car-like an RX-8. No matter what you do, IT'S STILL A HONDA CIVIC, it's not supposed to go fast.

I know this guy named Steve who drives an early 90s Integra, think it's a 92. He is the cockiest son of a gun I know. I see him occasionally at the viewpoints above the canyons in Malibu, and he literally thinks he can take anyone with his "upgraded suspension" he says cost him 20 grand. He scuffs at my RX-8 whenever he sees it, dismissing it as a "show-off's car" with "no power and cornering almost as bad as a Jeep's".

I'm not making any of this up- one of his pals that we've nicknamed "Fairytale Donnie" (for obvious reasons) claims Steve's Integra can take ANY car in the world in a canyon. Seriously, he thinks besides some 1200hp Skyline he probably also made up, nothing could possibly take the Integra in a canyon. He even went so far as to tell me he raced and beat a Murcielago LP640, a Lotus Elise, and a Viper SRT-10 in the canyons. Would any that owned those cars even think of racing a 92 Integra worth about 9 cents? Not in this lifetime.

to me, pitting any two different production cars against each other is STUPID! production cars arent designed to be TOP performance in any one area, but well-rounded. some cars are better at some thing than others, get over it, every car has its strengths and weaknesses.

and most of all, if you really cant take the "drama" and stress of being made fun of for your obviously nicer/better/classier overall car..... then sell it and buy a ******* civic and go be a punk with them

wow...thats basickly what im going through... I no some kids..even my firends are claming that they can outrun whatever it is...like this kid in my school with his 94 altima..not trying to be mean but he said and i qoute "sean, Your rx8 sucks compared to my altima. I would smoke your car anyday of the week, ahaha Just wait till i get the turbo and No2 neverless my car looks so much better" I sat in senior spot( The place in my school where the seniors sit) with my jaw down speechless. I couldnt belive what i had jsut heard. I jsut sat there and said nothing back considering this kids altima...had rust all the wau down the side of the car. Thats the stuff that annoys me to death.

there is a Murcie highspeed chase cop car in a city close to me that is used when you can out run the maserati and ferrari. no one has yet and some of our highways have wicked banks and turns in them.

 

You have to remember that, when it comes to cars, most kids—well, most Americans, to be honest—are kinda stupid. The only thing they really care about are quarter mile times—everything else is secondary. You know… the way a six-year old would be.

Fortunately, people who really understand cars know better, and that includes nearly every auto journalist on the planet. I think edmunds.com said it best, back when they had a 350Z and an RX-8 duke it out:

"The Z may be faster, but the RX-8 is the better sports car."

Don't expect your friends to understand that. Because they won't.

however taking the corners at speed and maintaining it is what MAKES a sport car :D

While there are so many more important things in life than worrying about what other people think about your car, I thought I would drop a comment for this troubled owner.

First, the car is only a single part of the total package...the driver also is very important. You could have a 1200 HP skyline but if you can't drive it then it doesn't matter how fast the car is. I've found the best method to combat "haters" is to simply call them out on their BS claims.

This integra driver says his suspension cost him $20,000? Ask him what brands of equipment he has purchased? Who did the installation? What are the suspension settings? Whatever answers you get are either going to be totally bogus or he'll just blink at you. I can PROMISE you that (not trying to hate on other cars here) no integra owner would have a $20,000 suspension setup cause if they had that kind of money to invest they would not own an integra.

I used to hear and still do hear people who talk about what they are "going to" have in their car. The altima driver is "going to" get a turbo and "going to" get a nitrous system? Well it's great to TALK about what your going to have but you still DON'T have it.

Someone says their car is faster? Prove it! Someone says they can beat you in a race? Prove it! I'm sure there is a local Autox or drag track near you...tell em to show up or keep their mouth shut.

Either way what others think they can do against your car doesn't matter. I've had many instances at local track events or car shows having spectators give me their "opinion" on my car despite them driving mommy and daddy's mini-van. I ask them for their information and when they wanted to show up at the track to prove it and they all go speechless.

In the end it's a bunch of punks who always will be punks. Anyone who talked a good game about cars when I was in school couldn't hope to touch what I run now.

ahh i remember high school..you don't know how lucky you are to be driving a 6 spd rx8 at that age. my car in high school was a 97 celica that had 100 hp.

things you need to do.

have more self confidence and realize that any of these kids will trade cars with you in heartbeat.

you probably show them you're insulted when they talk ****, so they do it more.

go race them and prove who's faster! ****...it's not that hard to do...i do hope you're a decent shifter, as you would make us all look bad!!

out of all the cars you said these kids had, nothing even comes close to the rx8. the closest i would say is the gsr which is a 15.5 sec 1/4 mile car.

p.s. race them in a safe environment i.e. a local dragstrip or a street really really far away from traffic.
