I'm glad it's fall again!

I tend to forget how sensitive these cars can be to weather some days until fall comes around. This is the first weekend of the year here in Kansas in a while that it hasn't felt like either spring (80+ degrees with stupid humidity) or summer (95+ degrees with stupid humidity) and my RX-8 is thanking me for it. When I cranked it over this morning it started without a single pop or sputter (normally it lets out a couple of pops in the first second or two it's started) and idled amazingly smooth. It shifted like butter too which it doesn't normally do while the engine is warming up. I think it likes 65-70 degrees quite a bit! lol

Boy it feels good to romp on it in nice cool temperatures too. :D:

It always feels more powerful when the weather cools off.

Mu haha

We didn't have a summer here in So Cal.

No it's 90 plus at the beach!

It was sure a mild one this year things GREW.

We have a short spring and fall here. A long winter and a long summer. We only get a good probably 6 weeks of perfect weather (60's-70's with a breeze) and today is one of them. 65 with a very slight breeze and cloudless skies. It feels absolutely incredible outside and my RX-8 agrees. I took it for a spin over lunch and it again ran the best it has ever ran since I purchased it. I'd almost think it was completely problem-free if I didn't have a check engine light and one very sick sounding air pump in the engine bay. lol

Cooler Times

Ah, Fall.
I am looking forward to open windows with the heater blowing.
Not there yet, but it does finally feel like the AC is actually effective.
I did the AC Reprogram procedure and pipe insulation the other day.
The AC now blows much colder, and it made the external temperature go down by 15 degrees!
Can't wait for the leaves to really start changing so I have a reason to take my wife up to the mountains for a drive.

I bet you a cookie that you get alcohol in your gas there until this time of year -

My 8 runs smooth all year round -temp extreams range from 21 degrees to about 113 - and it can drop from 80 degrees to freezing in a 48 hour period....

Popping is more a wet gas/ or cheap gas thing here. Try some Chevron 91 with about 1/2 a container of Techtron added - it cleans out the injectors and makes stuff run smoother...

You might also want to check your spark plugs and see if you are getting carbon deposits.

A rotary should run like butter most of the time!

The only thing I find is that when temps go low, I need to change out my battery!

55 degree intake temps ftw!!!!!
