I know this might sound stupid but....

Now call me dumb but i just put a down payment on a nordic green rx-8 with navigation and everything i wanted on it. I met the first owner and took the car to a mechanic and got the loan but theres one problem.... the car is a 6-speed manual and i know im going to sound really stupid but is there anyway to convert manual to automatic or automanual or i dunno something else? the deal is sweet so i cant let it go but is there anyway???

please let me know I appreciate your kindness

No, there is no inexpensive way to do the conversion. Sorry.... :( .

It's cheaper to learn to drive the stick. Good luck.

It would be cheaper to buy a cheap automatic car for commuting (if that is where the stick becomes a problem; traffic)...

You are talking about new tranny, new engine (because the auto supposedly cannot handle the HP), and new bits inside to accomodate the auto.

Wow thanks forreal you guyz were nice well i guess ill just deal and learn how to do it. Would you say its hard or complicated like alot of feet movement and hand movement because im the type to kickback and listen to music while driving so will i hate it? Oh yea and i live in LA so lotttttsss of traffic....

Stick is not hard and even in traffic it's not going to kill you. Be happy you have the stick since it has 40 more HP and...in my opinion, sports cars are ment to be stick...driving an auto in a sports car just takes a big part of the fun out of it.

This is gonna sound wierd, but it will help you get a feel.

Take a passenger, find an empty parking lot with no obstacles like light poles and such.
Without looking down at the stick, practice finding the gears. You don't have to be moving for this.
Now close your eyes and open your ears (have your passenger keep an eye out) and WITHOUT rolling practice letting the car engage 1st gear. Even if you bump stall it don't worry since you are in a wide open parking lot.

I know it sounds weird, but it will work.
