It's one of the reasons this is my first new car. Never had to worry when you had a beater as your daily driver. I finally took the plunge and treated myself, but I swear I spend just as much time worrying and obsessing over the car as I do driving and enjoying it. In the end, I am happy with my purchase, and you will be too. Best of luck to ya.
I know exactly where you're coming from dude. It's my first new car too and I also "dwell" on any scratch or rock chip that occurs. I do plan on getting "crystal guard" or something like it soon and after I get those chips filled. Well, at least I'm not putting that many miles on it since I can drive around my CRX and GS-R during the weekdays.

Where about do you live Rotor Newbie? I was actually looking at quite a few cars - RSX, Accord, EVO, G35C, 350Z, and of course the RX-8. The 8 wasn't always my first choice. After my father talked so bad about the rotory engine, for awhile I wasn't even considering it. But after reading this forum I haven't heard too many negatives about the Renesis. So I finally narrowed my choices to the RX-8 and the G35c. I tested the G35c first, and although I love the exterior, I was somewhat disappointed with the interior, especially the rear seat. Then this past weekend I decided to try the RX-8, and was suprised that it was pretty roomy in the back. After driving it, feeling how smooth that engine is, and hearing that beeeep once I redlined, I knew what my future car would be. God I can't wait till my car arrives!!!!

I test drove the G35 as well and yeah it is a beautiful car and all, but it was too much of a status car for me. It just didnt look sporty on the interior at all, too much luxury. But the 8 is just awesome in and out! Plus you get so many looks in the 8 over the G! Welcome to the club!
