Hub Rust cleaning/Painting ---> Noise afterwards

I had the oil change + rotor/hub rust cleaned and painted by the dealer yesterday. Needless to say they overfilled the oil way beyond the full mark. I also noticed noise coming from the back of the car as if something was loose.

So I went to the dealer this morning and they fixed the oil level. For the noise part I suspected it may be something related to the hub painting as they had to take the wheel and calipers off. The dealer checked everything and told me there is nothhing loose.

The noise started only after my yesterday's service. I was told that this noise sometimes comes from the loose tire repair box in the trunk, so I removed it and test drove, the noise was still there. The service writer tells me they can hear the noise as well but dont know whats causing it. They have contacted techs at Mazda USA and waiting to hear back from them.

Anyone else experienced this before??

thanks.

Did they paint the hub area around the wheel studs? That contact surface between the wheel and hub needs to be free of paint.

The following service bulletin talks about something similar:

Don't they have a set of chassis ears?

How can the hear it and not know what it is? That just doesn't make sense.
