How will this battery issue play out?

2004 MT GT

11/2005 - Got original battery replaced. Paid pro-rated amount of like $65 for an upgraded Mada/Interstate MT35 battery from Mazda dealership. MT35 is a 36 month full/60 month pro-rated battery.

12/2007 - Hard start. Bad battery/alternator/starter. Warrantied new MT35 Battery/Starter replaced per Starter TSB. Paid $0. Also got upgraded starter and alternator.

09/2010 - Battery feels week and is dying again, tested low (not at dealer) and needs to be replaced. How are things going to play out tomorrow if I go to the dealership regarding warranty? Will the 36/60 warranty be reset from 12/2007 or from 11/2005?

Will the dealer give me a new battery or will I pay the pro-rated amount from the 11/2005 amount (basically SOL)? do I not even bother and just get my own??

Prorated most likely.

Think I'd go hit up Autozone and have them test not only the battery, but the charging system. Most will do it for free. Then you can go from there.

Yep, that's what I did- went to Advance Auto Parts and they said it was the battery. Am considering just getting the best Advance Auto Parts battery - they have a coupon special now- order online pickup in store-

$16 off $40 w/coupon code LC123
$24 off $60 w/coupon code LC123
$32 off $80 w/coupon code LC123
$40 off $100 w/coupon code LC123

AutoCraft Gold Battery, Group Size 35, 640 CCA. 36 mo Full/ 84 prorated warranty: $92 - 32 = $60 + tax with installation and all that other shit. At this point, I don't think there is a battery out there that can handle our car and the FL heat to last more than 3 years.

Grounding issue on the vehicle and not battery?

Why not quit dicking around with mazda batteries and get yourself a nice optima or something and not have to worry about it? You should be getting 3-5 years from a battery unless you have a stereo or alarm that pulls current all the time.

There is no more warranty left so you may as well go get your own battery and call it a day.

yup no warranty left just go get your own

Yea I learned battery is warrantied 'straight line' from original purchase date so I went to AAP and got the Autocraft Gold battery for $60. FYI- It's made by Johnson Controls which makes Optima batteries.
