How is the Pollen by you? Sucks here.
This is the amount of Pollen accumulation my 8 had after being outside for about 28 hours.
How do the owners of dark cars deal with this?? http://www.sendersnj.com/rx8/Mike/rx8club/100_5654.JPG http://www.sendersnj.com/rx8/Mike/rx8club/100_5656.JPG http://www.sendersnj.com/rx8/Mike/rx8club/100_5661.JPG |
We park our cars in garages ;)

Expo1 - California Duster after every evening commute. Heavy pollen hasn't kicked in as yet here, but anticipated very soon. The mosquitoes on the other hand appeared yesterday and thanks to heavy rains and therefore standing water a bumper season anticipated.
I love my BCM Shinka's appearance - in April and October that is. Oh well. My daughter's Silver Mazda 6i always looks good tho'. My next car will be silver! |
cali ftw no pollen here
|
Brilliant Black shows every single yellow speck, except on the front where the pollen is covered with splatted bug mush. :(
|
... but Smog fallout, which is just as bad. I think I had the only rusted Toyota in SoCal due to frequent washing.

wow, that's pretty bad.
+1 to California Duster |
Plenty of pollen in the PACNW. As others have stated, California Duster.
|
Two car garage, three cars. The Rav4 stays outside since it's the cheapest of the three. I have to hose it down daily and it leaves a stream of yellow down the driveway. I work at home so my wife take the Acura and the Rav just sits in the driveway. It's also not doing my allergies any favours.
|
Oh wow that's pretty bad. I notice a collection after about a week of it sitting in the garage. but an inch think in 28 hours? Ouch!
|
I gotta try a California Duster I can always see a buildup of pollen after work on my hood
|
Didn't notice any pollen on my beater, and today with my 8 at work that thing got coated real well when I walked out ready to head home...ironic considering I car washed it the day before...sigh
|
No no no! California duster will leave micro scratches on your clear coat. I used one for awhile but had to eventually take some clearcoat off; all the micro scractches annoyed the shit outta me.
|
that's what I said, DEATH TO CALIFORNIA DUSTER!!!!!
:uhh: |
|
I currently own a yellow car, only problem is that the paint code says its Nordic Green...
whats even worse is that I park in the middle of a 300 car lot, as far away from any form of nature that I can get and yet the pollen still coats my car. |
Expo1,
Hey, I thought you were gonna talk about allergies. You got a good color, but damn that's annoying. In Texas, I have a VR with matching red sand. I'm not even gonna try to clean the engine bay, and risk corrosion. At least it's got a carport, my Dakota is getting bird shite bombed. Where's my BB gun?:scratchhe |
That's BS. Used properly (a light pass) no scratches.

You'll get micro scratches from wind and dirt when you drive the car anyway.
Just don't worry about it. Just polish them out once a year. |
