Umm, I thought Shinka were only in Black Cherry?

and tan interior

Michael 04-03-2006 12:23 PM

salvage title - could have been repainted.

EyeBall Fixer...(o)(x) 04-03-2006 12:23 PM

Nope!
Not a Sinka... only a "Stinka", salvage title and all.
Seller probably doesn't have any Rotary savay...
Nice find!

BlueEyes 04-03-2006 12:24 PM

They were only black cherry in the North American market. Some other markets had silver shinka's as well. However, I doubt this is one of them.

Nothing like those new salavage cars though.

gonnahanvan8 04-03-2006 12:35 PM

No tan interior either.

Krankor 04-03-2006 12:37 PM

That is no Shinka. In addition to the color, there's the little detail that a Shinka *says* "Shinka" on the door post.

Jedi54 04-03-2006 12:47 PM

Not a shinka! 2005 Shinka's were only available in Black Cherry.

If it were an '06....it could have been a Shinka... :nono:

gonnahanvan8 04-03-2006 12:51 PM

I didn't even notice it was a salvage. It looks great, what do you suppose happened to it for it to be salavged?

unpocoloco 04-03-2006 01:20 PM

Someone should post to the "Ask seller a question" -
"Hi - I just noticed this is not a Shinka. Why are you advertising this as a Shinka?"

Those questions are public, so others can see them!

Jedi54 04-03-2006 01:31 PM

where does it show the questions from others?

gonnahanvan8 04-03-2006 01:41 PM

I just posted those questions and it didn't show up

BlueEyes 04-03-2006 01:44 PM

they're not public unless they choose to make them public. It's probably a flood car. Someone should just run the VIN in CarFax and see what it says.

Shinka13 04-03-2006 02:06 PM

I asked the seller what made it a Shinka, was it the lack of the tan interior, the wrong B pillar appliques, the wrong rims, the lack of the bright accents in the headlights and taillights, or the lack of the VIN being on Mazda's Shinka registry.

Jedi54 04-03-2006 02:32 PM

^^
Damn it Shinka, you beat me to it!

Should be fun to see how he responds to all of our questions.

WhiteDealershipRice 04-03-2006 04:25 PM

Salvage title, + Wrong model (shinka) + Incorrect VIN (carfax cannot find the VIN) =
Probably a flood car, or a Totaled Shinka VIN affixed to a stolen RX-8. I've seen people sellling on ebay the "clean" title + Vin plates of a totaled car (of course with a minimum ammount of chassis attached to them shipped optional) for "project car/racing purposes"

Shinka13 04-03-2006 04:31 PM

It's not a totaled Shinka, as the VIN doesn't show up on the file from Mazda, listing all the Shinka VIN's.

MrsLabop 04-03-2006 05:01 PM

According to Carfax, it has both a salvage title and a junk title. It was also listed as a commercial vehicle (not personal vehicle).

Anyone get a message back from the seller yet? I sent one too pointing out the misrepresentation.

I really dislike eBay sellers who do things like this. It makes the 99% who are honest look bad.

unpocoloco 04-04-2006 08:14 AM

lol, shinka! Those questions crack me up. Keep us posted.

Sorry for the misinfo re public comments. I guess maybe I was thinking of half.com? Amazon? I thought eBay did that as well. My B.

Darkrose 04-04-2006 09:48 AM

You could always report him to Ebay noting that he is misrepresenting the car.

rotorhead335 04-05-2006 12:22 AM

This is the only forum on this site that, so far, just leaves me cold. And incredulous. And bored.

To the person who waves at other RX-8s: Don't stop. I do, too, and I wave back. It's that kinda car.

Interesting. That's how I feel about the lounge.

Jedi54 04-05-2006 11:51 AM

Still no response from the seller...wonder why.

Asmoran 04-05-2006 02:23 PM

Jesus, Ebay makes it nearly impossible to report an item that has been misrepresented.
