How much weight would I save if I...

1) Took out the back seats
2) replaced the front seats with racing seats
3) replaced all the seats with racing seats
4) replaced the body kit, hood, fenders & trunk with carbon fiber

Thanks in advance. Just trying to figure out what upgrades are worth the cost.

that would depend on what seats you have now.

Maybe 100lbs It's not going to be any greater than the difference of having a full tank of gas and being low on gas...

carbon fiber is so expensive it's probably not worth the cost unless you have a lot of money to throw around. You can replace the dash with carbon fiber too. I'd say you might be able to knock a good few pounds off the car, and maybe you'll get a small increase in performance, but at what cost to your comfort and wallet. removing stock items might void warranty and reduce your resale value later.

#4 on your list isn't worth doing. Carbon fiber isn't going to lower the weight much vs the stock parts.

If you have a GT package, the stock seats are pretty hefty, but like ike said, thats less than what you get from full tank of gas vs low gas.

Dont do it. I have friends that have 3G's NSX and EVO's that are gutted. It dont mean **** if you dont have the HP to put down. Importtuner did the same thing with a 350Z all that improved was the breaking big deal.

Yes big deal, arguably the most important, and hardest to master part of performance driving was improved.

Not mentioned by others, but the rear seats won't save you much, maybe 20 lbs total?
