How much does a new clutch cost for the 8?
 

Its probably still a bit early for anyone to be replacing clutches (unless youve been bad) but I was curious as to how much it would cost parts+labor?

I'm curious about the cost as well, since this is my first stick shift car.

your looking at around 600-800 parts and labor. Its best to do all tranny work at once (ie flywheel) since the labor is not cheap. the 8 looks to be easier than some cars, such as my 6, since getting to the tranny doesn't involve ripping ou half the subframe of the car. clutches run 300-450 for the part alone

Don't ask my local dealership (Ferman Mazda in Tampa), they wanted $1,100 for labor alone to drop the transmission

I am fortunate. I have access to lifts and tranny jacks here on the base. So for me it would be a DIY job. I ain't skeered. :D

I recommend only getting the work done at a Mazda dealership or AAMCO. I had a local shop replace the clutch to my Stealth Rt Twin Turbo and they completely messed it up.
