how long for mazda response

Quick question:

I took my car to a mazda dealer last friday because of the low compression issue. They previously did some work under warranty such as zoom power which was supposed to increase compression. IT didnt and im back where I started.

Mazda said, ok we will ask mazda if we can get a new motor for you since you are under warranty.

They called me Tuesday and said that I could come pick the car up because they hadnt heard a response from mazda yet and didnt wanna keep the car from me. They submitted the info on saturday and were waiting for a response from Mazda since then, or waiting for them to "open up communications".

Is this normal or complete bs? They said "oh, well yeah you can leave it here if you dont mind waiting a few more days, but ever since its been here we cant duplicate your starting issues". well no fucking shit you didnt start it.

Anyways is it normal for mazda to take this long to reach out to a dealer about a warranty part, or is this dealer/mazda giving me the go-around?

Give it more time, jeeze

dont worry they just called back. apparently the compression is too close to minimum specifications for them to issue a new motor under warranty. And they're charging me 47.00 for submitting the info to mazda. lol.

No, they're not giving me the warranty. The dealer told me that mazda said the compression results were not low enough to issue me a new motor. So they are charging me 47.00 for literally the dealer just calling mazda and asking if they'll replace it.

Track the car and or canyon runs! It will be more fun than just redlining the car in a straight line.

Wouldn't flooding the car twice a day, everyday for the next 3 weeks with old fouled plugs and weak ignition coils be the better choice to get the engine worn out quicker?

BC.

Yeah it was funny too. The rep said "Oh well we have to charge you an hour of labor, but because your such a GREAT cusotmer, we are only going to charge you 1 half hour".

So because im a frequent customer i only get bent over half as hard. Oh well.
