how i dealt with the dealer

i had a miserable experience with my dealer. after i bought my 05 i had tranny problems. they accused my of abusing my car ect. many here have ranted and vented about similar treatment. i did two things. first i went to the sale people and asked about when the 09 would be out. then i vented to them about it being a sports car and being treated like a criminal by the service dept. a stretch but they got the point. then i got a survey from Mazda. i gave every one a excellent rating except for the service dept. they got less than acceptable. the next time i had a problem it was a totally different story. services had different attitude and i had a good experience. my trany was grinding down shifting into second. took three weeks but they fixed it. the service manger said " it shouldn't grind no mater what speed you were at". this also may have been a stretch but i got the message. they want my business. i bought a 09 from them and took the sale people to the service manger and told he was the reason i bought it from them. this also a stretch but may be the service will be better

can u believe they want 100 bucks to check out your cel? i went today and asked the guy if they had any one to look at it and he said no, when he realized i was out of warranty he said they had a guy who could look at it, only it would be 100 bucks. i said f that and went to autozone, had it checked out and found out it was only my gas cap was a bit loose

As of today, most people still believed that dealership is the one and ONLY place that know their car best. Thats the reason why most dealership does not care if they lose 1 or even 10 customers by talking shit to them, Cuz they still have like zillions of customers out there for them to "rip".

Notice I said "most" dealership. there are some dealerships out there still treat their customers with respect. it sounds kinda said but it takes time to find the good one. once you found it, you'll never go anywhere else. it took me 2 yrs b4 I found a good one. so go figure

The dealership I brought my car to for warranty work isn't bad, and they treat me right. I needed a new harness for my seatbelt pretensioner system because it failed or something. They installed it for free and under warrenty even though i'm not in a bumber to bumber warrenty now. But i think it may also be because my neighbor is a mechanic there. But the other day when i asked what the torque setting should be on the plugs when I went to do a tune up. he said "I don't know, I usually just go tight." I kinda just laughed at that and decided to do a tune up another day once I find out lol.

Ive worked in the car business for a long time. Some service departments are okay, but its so easy for these service departments to manipulate people due to ignorance and falsly accuse people of stuff because they dont make that much money off of certain jobs :banghead: . I literally had a dealer tell me that if I didnt shift below 3K, I was abusing my car and my warranty would be voided. :icon_no2:
