how to get more low end torque

How can we get more low end torque out of the RENESIS? After reading a recent comparison:
Monaro (GTO) v. 350Z v, RX-8

it really made me think about improving the RX-8 in that area. Any help would be appreciated.;)

A good review; it contains the answer to your question. Keep RPMs above 3500. That plus the 8's relatively lighter weight means you will have plenty of acceleration. That should be good enough for those looking for a sporty ride who really aren't checking up on the 0-60 in 5.9 claim. For those who will be disappointed in 6.2 vice 5.9 you might want to look at something besides the 8.

Typical ways to improve torque, or the sensation of torque, without altering the rotary engine itself is to play with gearing (ie: final drive) and/or to lighten rotational mass such as a lighter flywheel, pulley, and driveshaft (which, being carbon fiber is pretty much as light as it can get). Also, I read the flywheel has been lightened by 20% compared to ealier rotaries (FD?) so the improvement might not be as dramatic.

Dont mistake the GTO for the Holden CV8. They are different i.e. gearing, engine tune, suspension, exhaust..............The three cars are great cars but totaly differ in their customer target.
