With all the talk of MNAO voiding warrantys for exceeding 100mph I dont think many people will post here.

70 (highway speed limit) is the fastest Ive ever driven.

Is MNAO Mazda? That's pretty lame of them to try to blame the owner for their manufacturing defects.

That has to be a hoax. I got the car to 125 during the test drive. Salesman insisted me driving the car as hard as possible. You need about a mile of clear road to get there.

If you leave in the San Jose, CA area, you can take the 280 to 880 sweeper at about 110 or so before the car starts unsettling a bit. I have the MS suspenssion though. I haven't driven that fast since I bought the car, but can't wait to take it to Wllows Springs. I'm thinking that with a good exit at turn 9, it could get to 120+ by the end of the straight.

Well, they say it is a "sports car" when you tell them you are getting 14 mpg on the highway but if you say you are driving 100+ that's abuse of the "sports" car :p

Personally, I have never driven my car faster than the speed limit and higher than 4K RPM and been following all the recommendations on shifting RPM's :p :p :p

Did you go to Oak Tree dealership? There was one crazy-*** salesman who was telling me I should keep the RPM higher than 5K all the time and launch at 7K if I do not want to bog and stall the engine. I test drove the car and went to another dealership to buy it. I would not want 10 people "launching" my un-broken car at 7K on test rides.

I did go to Oak Tree Mazda. The rule of tumb when buying a sports car (or any car for taht matter) is not to get the one you test drove. I have always gotten a car with no more than 20 miles on it (CA cars have at minimum of 15 miles on them due to regulated test). In fact, if you are willing to wait, you can order your car to be built. Price is the same and if there is dealer markup, you won't pay for it. The wait for a foreign car can be from 3 to 9 months. I waited 9 months for my 911 having placed a non refundable $5K deposit. My Shinka had only 17 miles on it and the car still had the white plastic on the hood and plastic on the seats.

By the way, a similarity between a boxer engine (porsche & subaru) and a wenkell engine (our beloved rotary) is that you should keep the rpm at 4k or above to keep the oil flow and pressure at its optimum peak.

Has anyone actually had thier warrenty vioded for going over 100mph? Is this an urban myth, because I have a very hard time believing driving a sports car, which easily exceeds 100 mph, will void a warrenty. Germany has no speed limit on the highways, so I doubt it could be argued that the viod is due to safety issues...

I'm curious as to how Mazda could tie anyone to this board. I don't recall giving any information to this board that would enable them to identify me when I take my car to the dealership.

How many 8s are there in Sun Valley?? Sadly, I don't think it would be that hard. I mean we live in the time of zabasearch....privacy is a thing of the past.

I believe, it is not very difficult. A lot of people post pics on the board, have some stickers/rims/mods, etc.

So all, please, be careful what you say. When you are writing something, always assume these words are read by MNAO employee who is trying to void your warranty

You live in Sun Valley, ID (a fact you've corroborated many times with various comments about that area of Idaho) and were born on June 4th, 1962 (which you've also corroborated stating that your first car was a '63 Fairlane you got in '78). You served a number of years in the Air Force. Your car (an '04 Velocity Red GT) has approximately 10,000 miles on the odometer. Your car was built on 10/03 and you bought it July 18th 2004. It was shipped from a dealer in Montana and I believe you picked it up at a dealer in Twin Falls.

Oh, and you've claimed to have hit at least 117mph before. Good thing I'm not Mazda.

If I was Mazda I would have no problem at all taking that information and figuring out your real name. That's a lot of identifying information. Yes, it is true all that could be one VERY elaborate lie that just so happens to match up exactly to Mazda's records of a customer. But, in a court of law, Mazda doesn't need to "prove" that Mike Jones (or whomever) is LiveBlues they just have to have a preponderance of evidence to make their case. People go to jail for murder with less information than what I found about you just from your posts. And after Mazda made their case the burden of proof would fall on you to prove that none of those posts were made by you and that it was all one elaborate plot. Good luck with that.
