How can you tell a RX-8 is a GT? What are some things that could tell you?

anything below those and you have a base or a sport

 

Any differences performance wise between the models?

 

The leather seats are heavier than the cloth and the sunroof adds weight as well so there is at least some performance difference (wikipedia lists a range from 2888 to 3029 lbs for the 6 speed). It is probably not noticeable unless you are at the point where you are trying to shave off fractions of a second in lap times.

GT = Grand Touring. You may mean Grand Touring and Touring.

Here is a tip for telling if the car has a Bose system. The little speakers on the windshield columns above the dash have the word written on them. I also think the 6 CD changer only comes with the Bose package, but am not sure.

 

I have Bose without the 6 CD changer. I do have "Bose" on the tweeters.

no, we are americans lol, ya if the op is not in the usa then i take back my first comment.

 

I wonder why the Americans never got the GS? It was my target model to buy since it came out.
It is all power no flower, who needs a bunch of useless gizmos anyways.

 

hey now, i like all my "useless" gizmos....
i have a GT with leather, bose, electric seats with heaters, navi.... the whole shebang.... and no 6cd changer.... probably the only option mine didnt come with... but question, and i dont mean to thread jack, but did any Series 1 come with climate control in the U.S.????

 

Mine didn't but I'm sure its not that hard to upgrade to.

 

if i could, i'd love to take out that damn "auto" **** that moves my seat... im not that lazy now... lols.
