how do i get this?
I am looking to get a deeper gargle sound from my exhaust and a more throaty sound. I am sure i wont ever be able to get it sounding like a strong v8 or something but i am lookin to upgrade this. It seems like every 8 i hear with exhaust sounds like a riced out civic and i cant stand that sound. I either am lookin for that or the mean sound of the G35 which sounds so sexy. It reminds me of like a Ferrari or something. Thanks and if anyone has this i would love to know more. Also i have heard hollowing out my cats, which would be illegal, but i would consider that for definite results.

Good luck with that, its a Rotary....please put a sound clip on here when you get it.
|
Rotaries are like little bumble-bee engines if you've ever heard them racing or something.
The only exhaust that was throaty on my 2nd gen rx-7 was the Apexi Dual N1. Very deep, very loud. The Racing beat was pretty good on a turbo car. |

actually i've been told that going through an underpass that it sounds like a ferrari... my friend was tailing me in his nissan Z and said that two cars on the left and right of me got scared and kinda jumped in their seat , but like old rotor said its a rotary so good luck with getting that noise!
|
civics actually sounds like a rotory. we're suppose to sound like a pissed off bumble bee.
|
haha... iono what kinda civics you've heard. but where i live, there are modded civics at every stoplight and they do not sound like a rotary.

In my opinion the rotary is a unique sound and does not sound like the fartpipe riceboxes.
All i have so far is my RB Supercat which adds a bit of deep tone / volume to the sound, its raspy till the cat gets to operating temp, but when I drop down to 3rd on the highway to pass some slow old person I kinda think our rotary is more akin to one of the Ferrari exotic high pitched exausts. Whats funny stick a rotary next to a civic and get them both revving, and the difference would be like night and day. |
http://www.vroombox.com/ Has your answer :) |
OMG THEY MENTION THE RX8 ON THE FRONT PAGE :rollingla
“Instead of paying $500-$700 to improve the exhaust sound with an aftermarket Cat Back why not pay $159 and make your RX-8 sound like a 71’ Hemi Cuda?” |
to me rotary sound reminds me of a sport bike

Agree 100%, it reminds me so much of my 93 CBR 600 in sound and characteristics (except for the crazy bike acceleration of course)
|
That's kinda neat. The third video down was taken about 15 minutes from my house.
|
If I wanted a deep throaty sound from a V8 I woulda just bought a GTO or stang.. I just want a sound that doesnt sound like I have litteraly have coffee cans attached to my rear. That and as it stands the sound of the exhaust is distinct enough.

You can get the sound of the VQ35 in the g35... why? because its a freaking different motor! completely different concept! every engine has its own unique sound damnit!
|
#2 for HKS, I have it, it blows away any other exhaust for the RX-8. Has the nice rolled tips, thick walled construction, and every other aftermarket exhaust I have seen has a nice bronze to it, mine is as silver and shiny as the day I got it. The sound is a little louder than Racing Beat and not as raspy as the Greddy.

I like how the Borla + Revi + B&B midpipe sounds. not too agressive with just the right amount of lows at the right moment.
