Mine usually come clean with ordinary car wash soap, a terry cloth rag, and a little elbow grease. If that doesn't do it, any metal polish—Simichrome or Flitz or NeverDull—works well.

NgoRX8 04-23-2007 10:59 AM

i just use metal polish. blue magic works well for me.

Go48 04-23-2007 02:48 PM

Nevr-Dull. Cheap, effective and lasts forever.

If it's just the soot that your're trying to remove - Castrol SuperClean

Blue Magic Metal Polish works for me

I take the hand-dish-washer, and scrape that bitch clean!

alnielsen 04-23-2007 06:36 PM

I use a spray-on wheel cleaner. I clears the carbon off the tips, like it takes the brake dust of the rims.

x2. the stuff is great.. just be careful. it is damn strong.

beers

Stavesacre21 04-23-2007 08:25 PM

ironically, i've always just used car wash when washing the whole car. However, that stuff gets to me almost as fast as brake dust. When i'm just trying to polish it off from time to time, i just use armor all...always seems to shine it up pretty dang nice.

English Custom Hot Environment Polish for the total win.. cleans up real nice.

Otherwise, wash with soap and water in between.

+1...............this stuff is great! I bought two bottles and it going to be a very long time before I use it up, even when doing the cans on the stainless cat-back every now and then.

Jedi54 04-23-2007 11:18 PM

peterisurhero 04-25-2007 06:43 PM

does anybody know if these chemicals will work for the agency power exhaust tips? they are titanium sheets that are turning NASTY gold. i tried cleaning it with some stainless steel polishers but didn't work.

any ideas??

Jedi54 04-25-2007 06:45 PM

Never fear Peter, Jedi is here! :D:

Chrome Polish and hot environment is a superb chrome polish first and foremost.
It is good at removing bluing from chrome and gold from stainless exhausts.
Excellent polish for use on any metals that have to endure extreme heat
Here's the link for ECP: http://www.englishcustompolishing.co...hotchrome.html
