Hola everyone and my apologies.

I put up a thread recently asking quite a few questions that, as it turns out, have already been aswered, and specifically at that, in other threads. Before my first post I had done a lot of reading and searching on this forum, but was unable to find any answers. As it turns out, for whatever reason, searches and about 98% of the threads on this forum were not displaying for me. I am now able to view everything on the forum and have found answers to all my questions.

I apologize if my original post seemed stupid or uninformed, and I see why no one bothered replying to it. At least no one flamed me. ^^

I think everyone is concentrating on the current heat and power issues and are afraid to respond to someone looking at getting an RX8.

Having said that I'm glad to see that you were finally able to access the information you were seeking. As you can see there is a ton of data to look through. And thanks for your candor on being new to the forum (at least to posting). Apology gladly accepted...and I speak for all forum users (rather they like it or not..lol)

As a 2 year owner of the 8, and living in a hot environment I continue to experience few problems with my 8. I did encounter the power loss issue on one of our hottest days but have not been able to duplicate it since. Of course not, I have had the ODBII scanner and computer connected to the car while driving collecting all kinds of data in hopes of seeing something that would hint at what the issue is.

I have other vehicles and they all have experienced recalls of one kind of another. One for catching fire even while it was parked (not running or even turned on in anyway) in the garage, or in my case outside - even before the recall.

I still really enjoy my 8 and see no reason why I won't continue to do so. Mazda will address any outstanding issues I'm sure - so far they have treated me well although I haven't really had any issues with the car. 18,000 miles in two years might be a reason for not yet having issues, but I read some post about issues with far less mileage.

Hope you find answers to all your questions. If not don't hesitate to post a question here. And don't let the flamers concern you.
