History repeated (power 247 -> 238 )

This is really bad... Mazda USA seems can't do the right thing. History returned. If you didn't know the 2001 Mazda Miata Mx5 was first rated /advertised as 155hp but then later the miata forum discovered that it did not produce any improvement on the acceleration 0-60mph.. and later discovered that it made only 142hp (which is 2hp more from the 1999's 140, or 138 @CA)

9 hp of mis-calculation... = $500 debit card + free maintenance under the 4years/50k. But then... almost all Mazda dealerships are panicking right now!! I have shown indication of interest in the past and I left my information to my local dealership. They called me up last Thursday telling me again and again about their lowest deal ever.... Now... if you still thinking whether to accept the rebate offer, or the buyback program... It is quite easy. If you got your Rx-8 in a good deal; go for the rebate offer. But if you don't, consider the buyback program...cos' very soon, these Rx8 will be sold in Invoice price. There are tons of them sitting in my dealers' lot... hahaha... and it is at Bay Area SF... I see No rush...

Please get a grasp on reality; then again I see you joined the group just to post on this topic, so...

Mazda dealers are not panicking. Frankly, Mazda dealers are probably not even concerned.

Guess what? 99% of potential RX-8 buyers don't care about HP, they care what the car feels like when they drive it.

Most people here were thrilled with their 8s until dyno tests started being posted, and suddenly the cars were light on power and generally a disappointment. Amazing how that works.

And if I know the Bay Area, the reason your lots have tons of 8s are (1) the local unemployment rate, and (2) most of those dealers are probably asking $3K - $5K OVER MSRP...
