high water
 
man on my way to work today and hit up a flooded street...when i got out of the car my license plates was bent forward. i know 1ft or more of water is not too good for any car....but how bad is it for our 8's? with the engine being low and all.......im parked outside....im gonna check up on it when it stops raining sigh

I think you shouldn't have any problems unless the intake sucked up water...

For the most part if the car was running when you came out then you souldn't have a problem. The big issue is when people pull off the gas when hitting the water causing some to be sucked in and recking the exhaust sensors among other things. I know more than one person that had 600-1000 in repairs to get their engine to run right again.

That said, how long did you run after you hit the water. The other thing that is bad is cooling the engine/exhaust really fast casuing thermal cracks. The the car temp was down and you kept running afterward I would guess this is okay as well. Good luck.

...to make this clearer, he doesn't mean water coming into the "front" of the engine, but up the tailpipe...

The intake inlet are located really high near on the front nose of the car, not unless the car do a deep dive into the water, there should be no problem; hardly any water can't even get near the intake inlet:

Beside metal rust and tail pipe sucking up water (if any, like mentioned), there should be no issue at all.
